Under the Bed

Every child knows about the monster under the bed—Neal Hausman’s mistake was trying to fight it. Neal has returned from a two-year exile following his tragic attempt to defeat the monster, only to find his father ticking ever closer to a breakdown, a new stepmother who fears him, and his little brother Paul, terrorized by the same monster. While Neal and Paul work together to try and fight the nocturnal menace, their parents are taking desperate measures to get the family back to normal. With no support from their parents, the brothers have nothing to rely on but each other, and courage beyond belief.

Trailer For ‘Under The Bed’ Sets Tone For The Slow Burn Creature Feature!

Director Steven C. Miller’s Under the Bed is pretty much the opposite of the V/H/S movies. Hewing closer to a slow burn (with a dash of Amblin), this creature feature dips its toes into 80′s horror films (with a bit of added angst). And now we’ve got a trailer (via The Wrap) that reflects that, though it’s not as bloody as the actual feature.

Opening July 19 from XLRator Media, “Every child knows about the monster under the bed—Neal Hausman’s mistake was trying to fight it. Neal (Jonny Weston, Chasing Mavericks) has returned from a two-year exile following his tragic attempt to defeat the monster, only to find his father ticking ever closer to a breakdown, a new stepmother who fears him, and his little brother Paul (Gattlin Griffith, Green Lantern, Changeling), terrorized by the same monster. While Neal and Paul work together to try and fight the nocturnal menace, their parents are taking desperate measures to get the family back to normal. With no support from their parents, the brothers have nothing to rely on but each other, and courage beyond belief.” Jonny Weston, Gattlin Griffith, Peter Holden, Musetta Vander and Kelcie Stranahan star. The film was penned by Eric Stolze who wrote the upcoming Late Phases.

Check Out the French Trailer For Our Creature Feature ‘Under the Bed’

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting reader Fabien Monnier for tipping me off to the following French trailer for Under the Bed, a kiddie creature feature that will be coming released this summer here in the States through Xlrator.

The trailer absolutely cracked me up as it shows the film will be called Scary in France – so I can only assume they don’t have beds out there? The trailer is texted in French, although there’s no actual dialogue. It’s weird, but at least you’ll get a taste of what we accomplished with director Steven C. Miller (Silent Night). It stars Jonny Weston, Gattlin Griffith, Peter Holden, Musetta Vander and Kelcie Stranahan.
