A Reckoning

FADE IN on a decaying world. The wind whistles through the hollow streets. Death can be seen in the boarded up windows, in the over-grown reeds, in the clutter and rust; this is a nightmarish place, a place of memories turned to stone. A children’s playground sits rotting beneath the pale autumn sun, the swings creak in the breeze. This is a desolate village. Time has left this place; time, and man. Save one.

[Premiere] Zak Bagans Vs. Praga Khan’s “Immortal Portal” Song Stream

Bloody-Disgusting is excited to bring you an exclusive first listen to “Immortal Portal”, which comes off the upcoming Zak Bagans Vs. Praga Khan album NecroFusion! Zak Bagans is the host of Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures while Praga Khan is best known as one of the founding members of Lords Of Acid. The track features Bagans communicating with a ghost and the resulting EVP used in the song. You can check out the song below!

Bagans explains the story behind the song, “The spirit voices in this song were also captured in my home. On this particular night, I immediately grabbed the recording devices after a severe paranormal incident made a friend of mine leave my house. As I began rolling, I asked a series of questions with no response, but when I asked, “Why are you following me?” a very dark voice came through confessing, “I killed myself.” Intrigued I asked, “What is your name?” …then a female voice very clearly told me “Rhonda.” I then asked her if she messes with me in my sleep, seeing as one evening months earlier, I was dragged out of my bed by my ankles. She replied, “I do” in an amusing tone as if she enjoyed messing with me. Again, this female voice lends to my attachments of a dark demonic entity and a possessive female spirit.

NecroFusion will be released Oct. 23rd. READ MORE

[Interview] Aaron Sagers On “Paranormal Paparazzi” And Traveling To Find The Bizarre

Paranormal Paparazzi” is a new show on the Travel Channel that brings the celebrity/entertainment side of horror and the “real” side of horror together. They’re already opposite sides of the same coin anyway, why not bring them together in a catch-all travelogue that allows them to riff off of each other. Aaron Sagers hosts the show (in addition to writing for CNN and running ParanormalPopCulture.com).

I hopped on the phone with Sagers this afternoon to discuss how this new show differs from producer Zak Bagans’ “Ghost Adventures” and the general all-around hijinks they’ll be up to this year.

The show airs on Fridays so that means it will be play tonight, October 5th, on the Travel Channel with two back-to-back episodes beginning at 7p.m. ET. It will also beHead inside to check out the interview. READ MORE

Things Get Creepy In Zak Bagans Vs. Praga Khan’s “Room 20″

When it was first announced that Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans would be teaming up with Lords Of Acid founder Praga Khan to create NecroFusion, an album that utilized actual EVP recordings, I was kind of skeptical. How exactly would that work? What would it end up sounding like? Well, now we have a chance to hear a song from the album entitled “Room 20″. Check it out below.

The song documents Bagans “discussion” with actor David Strickland, who was known for his role on NBC’s “Suddenly Susan”. Strickland committed suicide in Room 20 at the Oasis hotel. It was there that Bagans recorded his discussion.

According to Bagans, “After hours of recording sessions, I felt a sudden, intense presence of energy, and I knew I was not alone. I began communicating with mind-blowing responses. One of the responses I got was when I said ‘hello’ to Strickland, and he replied ‘hi, Zak.’ I asked if he could hear me and he said ‘yeah.’ At this point, I was getting intelligent responses, one after the other. I asked how many other spirits were present, and a female voice began shooting off numbers for me – ‘seven, eight’ – at which time I asked ‘Do you see other dead people?’ And Strickland’s voice came through again, telling me he ‘sees the Lord.’ I asked him if he knew where he was, and said ‘Oasis.’ This was one of the most powerful spirit communication sessions I have ever conducted.

The album will be released Oct. 23rd. What are your thoughts? Cool gimmick or obvious Halloween cash grab? READ MORE

New Album ‘NecroFusion’ Uses Actual EVP Recordings

Zak Bagans, the host of the Travel Channel’s popular paranormal show Ghost Adventures, has teamed up with Lord Of Acid‘s Praga Khan to release an album entitled NecroFusion, which will be released Oct. 23rd (Halloween music anyone?). The album will feature 11 tracks, each telling the story of a different spirit. Each track will also use actual EVP recordings of the ghost in question, making these “true stories”. Khan wrote and recorded the music while Bagans wrote the lyrics and provided spoken word/vocals for the tracks.

Khan states, “Working on this album was one great experience from start to finish. When Zak came up with the idea to record an album with EVPs, I was both surprised and excited. I had absolutely no idea what to expect. When he sent me the audio files that he had recorded with his Spirit Box and I listened to them, I really freaked out. This was scary stuff.”

Bagans adds, “For me, spirit communication is the most powerful communication I’ve ever encountered. The most powerful messages are delivered through music, and music truly influences the way you feel, it stimulates the emotional memories of your life. With ‘NecroFusioin,’ we’ve blended together these two powerful forms of communication – spirit and music. And the earthbound spirits have a lot to say.
