As is my ritual on Fridays, I need to watch last night’s episode of NBC’s “Hannibal” ASAP. In the meantime, check out Gillian Anderson as Hannibal’s shrink in this teaser for next week’s episode 1.07 “Sorbet.”

[TV] Next On “Hannibal”, New Clip Provides You With An Entirely New Reason To Be Murdered

NBC’s “Hannibal,” has given TVLine a new clip from their episode 1.02, titled “Amuse-Bouche.” I haven’t seen the show yet but this clip has me intrigued (along with everything else I’ve heard about it). It would definitely suck to be buried alive so you could harvest mushrooms.

In the episode, “Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), now an official special investigator with the FBI, helps Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) and the BAU unit search for a murderer who buries his victims alive to grow mushrooms. In their therapy sessions, Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) begins to gain Will’s trust as they bond over responsibility for Abigail (guest star Kacey Rohl), and helps Will open up about his true feelings about killing Hobbs. Meanwhile, Freddie Lounds (guest star Lara Jean Chorostecki) snoops around the BAU’s investigation.” Caroline Dhavernas and Hettienne Park also star.

[TV] This Bloody “Hannibal” Trailer Proves Networks Are Trying To Catch Up To Cable’s Violence

First “The Following” and now NBC’s “Hannibal”. Although the Hannibal Lecter centric show has the potential to be entertaining, it’s sort of weird to see this much gore in a network show. I’m not against it by any means – I just hope they know that there are several other qualities that set the AMC and HBO slate ahead of them creatively. Anyway, this still looks like it could be pretty good.

[TV] Weigh In On This Trailer For NBC’s “Hannibal”!

Update: They’ve fixed their embed! Trailer looks fine now!

I can’t see what the hell is going on. Is it supposed to be half the frame? All jowels and jawlines? The full thing airs on SNL tonight and I hope they really mean the “full thing.” Is it possible that EW only loaded half the image into their player? Or is this an artistic decision? Anyway if you’ve been waiting on a trailer for NBC’s “Hannibal”, here it is. Some of it.

[TV] New Key Art For “Hannibal” Dry And Delicious

We’ve got some new key art for NBC’s “Hannibal” that looks sort of cool. Visually, I’d definitely say the marketing is looking to play up the campier elements of Lecter’s personality. Hey, gotta get to those people who only remember the “fava beans and a nice chianti” line from Silence Of The Lambs! We haven’t seen any of the actual show yet so the jury’s still out on that.

David Duchovny Weighs The Possibility Of ‘The X-Files 3′

A few months back TheX-Files writer Frank Spotnitz discussed his strong desire to do a new film in the series saying,”There is a very active and relentless fan campaign for a last movie. I do feel like it would be a terrible shame if that didn’t happen. It feels wrong not to give it an ending around the alien colonisation of earth. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson feel the same.

Now Duchovny’s speaking for himself and he backs this up 100%. He told Collider, “That book doesn’t close until somebody dies, really. One of the greatnesses of the show was its open-endedness. It was about possibility. It wasn’t about closure. It just couldn’t be. There is no such thing as that story ever ending. Those characters are forever searching. That’s what they do. Even if we’re not watching them, they’re out there, in some dimension. Mulder and Scully are still doing their thing ‘cause that’s their nature…I would love to do another film, or more. I think we’re all game for it. I know I’m kind of perplexed that Fox isn’t more [enthusiastic].

I can kind of see where Fox is coming from. 2008′s I Want To Believe only grossed $20M compared to Fight The Future‘s $83M (not adjusted for inflation). But Duchovny has a reasonable answer for I Want To Believe‘s financial failure. Head inside for more. READ MORE

Talk of a Third ‘X-Files’ More Real as Gillian Anderson Expresses Strong Interest (Again)

As stated multiple times since the last piece of crap hit theaters, Gillian Anderson is still ready to reprise her iconic role as Dana Scully in a third X-Files film, says THR.

The site reports from the world premiere in Sydney of Universal’s Johnny English Reborn, in which Anderson plays the head of fictional MI7 opposite Rowan Atkinson, and reports that Anderson said that there is definite talk of X-Files 3.

I hope it will happen, there’s talk of it,” she told Australian breakfast TV program Sunrise.

I don’t know who’s writing it but I hear there’s something going on,” she said.

And she indicated that there could be more life in the franchise, saying she wants to do a film spoof of the hit Fox TV series.

I’ve always wanted to do a spoof of the X Files as a film,” she said.

We talked about that for a long time but maybe after three features we could get to do a spoof feature.

The 2008 The X-Files: I Want to Believe was absolutely horrendous and flopped at the boxoffice raking in only $21 million. Although, it is worth noting that it pulled in $68 million worldwide, which quite possibly could warrant talk of another sequel.

The X-Files: I Want to Believe

The studio is keeping the film’s logline under wraps, but stressed the pic is a stand-alone story and supernatural thriller that takes the complicated relationship between Mulder and Scully in new directions.

When a group of women are abducted in the wintry hills of rural Virginia, the only clues to their disappearance are the grotesque human remains that begin to turn up in snow banks along the highway. With officials desperate for any lead, a disgraced priest’s questionable “visions” send local police on a wild goose chase and straight to a bizarre secret medical experiment that may or may not be connected to the women’s disappearance. It’s a case right out of The X-Files. But the FBI closed down its investigations into the paranormal years ago. And the best team for the job is ex-agents Fox Mulder and Dr. Dana Scully, who have no desire to revisit their dark past. Still, the truth of these horrific crimes is out there somewhere…and it will take Mulder and Scully to find it!
