Set to be published in May by Putnam Juvenile, “Camp Creepy Time” is about a young boy who’s sent to a summer camp. He discovers that the haunt is little more than an alien-run smuggling operation. And the camp counselors are turning children into monsters, and shipping them off to zoos on planets around the solar system.
The Scribbler
The film is a noir sci-fi action thriller about a young woman recently released from a mental hospital, and continuing a treatment programme to rid her of her alternate personalities. She moves into a halfway house for mental patients where the residents begin to die at an unusual rate.
Alternate: The Siamese Burn is an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities. And it works. Suki is down to her last unwanted identity. But now she’s losing time, and the machine is changing, doing something new. Something that’s going to turn her world inside out. And that unwanted identity… what do you do when it turns out to be you?

Imagination Worldwide Inks Foreign Rights To ‘The Scribbler’
Imagination Worldwide has acquired the foreign distribution rights to director John Suits’ The Scribbler. The film stars Katie Cassidy (NOES 2010), and also stars Garret Dillahunt (The Last House On The Left ’09 ), Michelle Trachtenberg (“Buffy”), Eliza Dushku (Wrong Turn), Gina Gershon (Killer Joe), Michael Imperioli (Oldboy ’13), Billy Campbell (“The Killing”), Kunal Nayyar (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Sasha Grey (The Girlfriend Experience).

Bloody Disgusting has learned that John Suits’ The Scribbler will be promoted at this weekend’s New York Comic-Con.

[BD Interview] ‘The Exorcist’ Director William Friedkin On Avoiding Formula, And The Studios, In His New Movie ‘Killer Joe’
In theaters today from LD Entertainment is Killer Joe, an insanely fun and disturbing movie directed by the man behind The French Connection, The Exorcist, Sorcerer, To Live And Die In LA and Bug – William Friedkin. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Juno Temple, Thomas Haden Church and Gina Gershon and is based on a play by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts.
I recently spoke with Friedkin about crafting Joe, his sixteenth film, and his decision to make it outside of the studio system. We also talk about the film business in general and which of today’s filmmakers he finds inspiring. Oh, and he also weighs in on the futility of even comparing movies like Citizen Kane and Vertigo. It’s a long interview (we even talk Near Dark) but, when you get a chance to speak to someone with this kind of body of work, you want to go for the big picture.

[Video Interview] Emile Hirsch On Working With William Friedkin And What Scene Scared Him Most In ‘Killer Joe’
LD Entertainment will soon release Killer Joe, which is directed by the man behind The Exorcist and To Live And Die In LA – William Friedkin. This may not sound like a horror film to you – but it is indeed bloody and disgusting. It’s also very entertaining. One of the ways in which the film is at its pitch black (and hilarious) best is when it’s detailing the increasingly giant clusterf*ck Emile Hirsch’s Chris Smith digs himself into. He’s in trouble from frame one and can’t keep from sinking deeper.
I recently spoke with Hirsch about what it was like to inhabit a character whose physicality kept changing with every beating he received. We also talked about what it was like to work with William Friedkin and which material in the script freaked him out the most.

This may not sound like a horror film to you – but it is indeed bloody and disgusting. It’s also very entertaining. I can see why some people might have issues with it (or even hate it) – it’s an absolutely bonkers movie. But it’s intense and unsettling and bold. It weirded me out more than Human Centipede but had more to say and was much more fun to watch. The final scene made me more uncomfortable than anything I’ve seen in recent memory.
The film opens in NY on July 27th and in Los Angeles on August 3rd. But if you live in LA YOU can see it early! This Bloody Trailer For The Gina Gershon/Val Kilmer Starring ‘Breathless’ Takes Place Inside Of A Trailer
The trailer for dark comedy Breathless is pretty okay, though I have a sneaking suspicion that the movie will be gratingly annoying. But you can make up your own mind – just be warned that you’ll be told exactly how soon into the movie one of the stars dies.
In the film, “Lorna (Gina Gershon, Showgirls, P.S. I Love You) is a strong-willed Texas woman who’s had enough of her untrustworthy husband, Dale’s (Val Kilmer, Top Gun, Batman Forever), criminal acts and lack of husbandry. Fed up, she enlists the help of her old friend, Tiny (Kelli Giddish, NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”), to help her figure out what to do with Dale after his latest double-cross involving the theft of $100,000 from a bank. As the girls brainstorm for a “neat” solution, they medicate themselves with only the best of prescriptions – Tennessee whiskey – which leads them to even bigger problems. When Sheriff Cooley (Ray Liotta, Goodfellas, Hannibal) inconveniently enters the conundrum, the story evolves into a tale of revenge and survival that resolves in true Texas fashion: bold and ruthless.

We announced back in April exclusively that actor Vincent D’Onofrio (Sinister, Full Metal Jacket) would be both executive producing and starring in Joe Hahn‘s (best known as Linkin Park’s DJ) genre pic that heads to the Mall.
Penned Joe Vinciguerra and Sam Bisbee, the indie project that’s described as a “dark drama” follows the empty and sordid lives of various mall-goers who are brought into stark relief when a disgruntled former tuxedo shop employee goes on a massive killing spree. It will feature the music of Linkin Park.

Starring alongside Cassidy will be Garret Dillahunt (The Burning, Last House on the Left, Looper, Winter’s Bone), Michelle Trachtenberg (Black Christmas, “Gossip Girl”), Eliza Dushku (Wrong Turn, “Dollhouse”), Gina Gershon (Killer Joe), Michael Imperioli (The Lovely Bones), Billy Campbell (“The Killing”), and Sasha Grey (The Girfriend Experience). Rounding out the supporting cast are Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede), Kunal Nayyar (“The Big Bang Theory”), and T.V. Carpio (Limitless).

Daniel Schaffer adapted the screenplay adapted from his own graphic novel, which Image Comics originally published in 2006 and is going to be re-released by First Comics in conjunction with the film’s opening.
