There are only 182.5 days left until Halloween, so lets celebrate!
I love Halloween, always have, and every year I like to extend it to encompass all of October, rather than saving all the fun for the 31st. Now, I’ve found another way to celebrate my favorite holiday with something called Halfway-to-Halloween. It just so happens that this momentous occasion is on April 30. For true Halloween lovers like myself, this is most definitely worthy of a Bloody Disgusting giveaway. We’ve teamed up with our friends at HalloweenCostumes.com to give away three fantastic prizes — details after the break!
(The contest is over, make sure you check the WINNERS article to see if you won!)
What could be a better present to give your Valentine than Dead Space 3 DLC? That’s right, we have a LOT of codes for you to win. Here is how this contest will work. There will be 3 winners. One for the PC, one for the Playstation 3, and one for the Xbox 360. The winners will win double codes for SEVERAL different DLC packs. One set of codes for you, the other set for your Valentine. Head past the break for the rules, and PLEASE read them because they have changed a bit for this contest.
Last week we held a caption contest asking you to come up with your best captions from a cell taken out of the latest installment in the series of graphic novels based on the Dead Space franchise, Liberation. Now, I have the winners. Believe me when I say it was crazy difficult choosing the best of the bunch. Great job to everyone who participated, now read on for your winners!
Most of you are already fully aware that the third installment in Visceral Games’ Necromorph-stomping action horror franchise Dead Space released earlier this week, but what you might not know is what released alongside it. That’s Dead Space: Liberation, the third graphic novel based on the games and the second to be illustrated by immensely talented artist Christopher Shy, who I had the opportunity to chat with the other day about his amazing contributions to the franchise.
The lovely folks over at Titan Books have graciously given us three copies of each graphic novel in the series, and that means three of you are going to walk away with the complete trilogy. Find out how you can make this happen after the jump.
If you signed up for early access to the Dead Space 3 demo, you’re probably enjoying some hands-on time with it right now. Everyone else has to wait until January 22 to get their anxious hands on the game’s bloody, Necromorph spanking co-op goodness. But don’t worry, I have ten codes for the Xbox Live demo to give away. Since I want to get these in your hands as soon as possible, this contest is going to be a quick one. All I want you to do is comment telling me which of the game’s two leads would win in a brawl: Isaac Clarke or John Carver? No plasma cutters or telemetry spikes, I’m talking full-on fisticuffs. I also want to know why you chose who you did. Now get to work, because I’m picking the winners on Friday, 1/18 at 12pm PST.
Today, Anchor Bay Films presents Silent Night on screens in ten major U.S. metropolitan areas and on Tuesday, December 4th, the Blu-ray/DVD combo and DVD will be available to unwrap nationwide.
And that’s just what we’re giving you the chance to do. FOR FREE! We’re also throwing in a copy of the recent DVD re-release of Silent Night, Deadly Night 1 & 2. That’s the new movie and the uncensored version of the original film and its sequel (that re-release comes with a ton of extra features BTW). Just send an email containing YOUR FULL NAME, your US address (no PO Boxes) and your most HORRIFIC real-life Xmas story to If you’re up for that shoot us an email Contest Now Closed. You’ll know you’ve won if the package shows up at your door in a week or two!
The film, directed by Steven C. Miller (Automaton Transfusion, Under the Bed, The Aggression Scale), is a loose remake of the horror classic Silent Night, Deadly Night. The cast includes Malcolm McDowell (Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Easy A), Jaime King (Sin City, My Bloody Valentine 3D), Donal Logue (Shark Night 3D, Blade), Lisa Marie (Sleepy Hollow), Brendan Fehr (Final Destination, X-Men First Class), and Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World). In the remake, “McDowell and King star as a small-town sheriff and deputy on the hunt for a murderous Santa Claus terrorizing their community on Christmas Eve. But with the streets full of Santas for the annual Christmas parade, the killer is hiding in plain sight. He’s made his list, checked it twice, and the naughty are going to pay with their lives.”
Head inside for the box art and a list of theaters in which you can see the film today. READ MORE
UPDATE: This contest is now closed. Big thanks to everyone who participated!
The first season of Telltale Games’ consistently amazing The Walking Dead ended with a bang last week, bringing an emotionally charged end to one of the most engaging video games I’ve played this year. That’s not it for the series, as Telltale’s confirmed they have plans for a season two and the retail bundle will be out on Dec 4th. If you haven’t had the chance to play The Walking Dead yet or are too impatient to wait for it to come to retail, boy, do I have a deal for you. The lovely folks at Telltale were generous enough to give me a few Steam season passes for The Walking Dead, and instead of keeping them all for myself, I’m going to give them all to you. Details after the break.
With so many video games out right now, it’d be understandable if you haven’t yet had the chance to really dig into the fourth episode of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead. With Episode 5 coming next week, time’s running out — fitting, since the fifth episode is dubbed No Time Left — for you to get caught up in time for the big finale. Because I’m madly in love with all of you and I believe in your ability to craft magical stories that whisk me away from this troubled world, I’ve decided to give out two XBLA download codes for the fourth episode. More after the jump.
Update: If you haven’t participated already, get on it! The deadline to comment for a chance to win some Resident Evil 6 goodies is November 11th. Your odds of winning are pretty good, so there’s really no reason not to participate. Plus, every time you comment, a zombie learns how to love. Think of the zombies.
A few days ago a box arrived on my doorstep, and after I had opened it, observed its contents, and gotten over the wave of disappointment that washed over me after I realized it wasn’t a baby or small animal being left to my care — I started to plan. Inside this box I found a ton of Resident Evil 6 goodies, including three special editions of the game, two normal copies (all for the Xbox 360), over a dozen t-shirts in a variety of sizes, and a bunch of Geltabz that you can slap on your controller to make it roughly 65% more sexy. I fought the urge to toss it all in my bathtub so I could proceed to swim in it like the King of Swag that I’ve long aspired to be, so I could instead give it to you. Why? Because you make my world go round. Head past the break to find out how you can get your hands on some of this.
If you haven’t voted for your favorite games of the year (so far), or finished reading my long-winded wish list of all the things I’d like to see in the soon-to-be-announced Dead Island: Riptide, then don’t worry, because today’s going to be real easy. It’s no secret that summer isn’t terribly kind to us gamers. Being an indoors people for much of the year, leaving the relative safety of our gaming dens, basements, hovels, or bedrooms means we have to deal with that cruel orb of light that hovers over us, watching and waiting. I squint when it’s cloudy, so direct sunlight isn’t my friend, and over the years my body has grown accustomed to an air conditioned environment, so I’m drenched in sweat not thirty seconds after leaving the shade. What I’m getting at is this: summer sucks, I feel for you, my brothers and sisters, so let’s enjoy some free stuff. More after the jump.
Fantasia Fest selection Schoolgirl Apocalypse will premiering at the fest on Monday, July 30th and will be available on iTunes on Tuesday, July 31st. And we happen to have a pair of download codes that we’re giving away!
In the film from writer/director John Cairns, “A Japanese schoolgirl, Sakura, has her idyllic small-town life turned inside-out when the local males start savagely killing the females. Armed with only her kyudo bow for protection and an English textbook for comfort, Sakura journeys through an apocalyptic world of mayhem. As trauma from witnessing the violent deaths of friends and family drives her toward madness, Sakura takes refuge in an animated dream-world where she meets Billy, a character from her English text! Billy helps her survive murderous zombies, as well as an even more formidable foe in Aoi (Tsujimoto), as she races to find real-world Billy and answers to the questions: Why is all this happening? And who or what is behind it?

Update: The giveaway is now over–big thanks to everyone who participated!
If you like free stuff then you’ve come to the right place, because today I’m giving away two codes to download the Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection for the PS3. For the unfamiliar, the collection brings with it the Umbrella Chronicles and the Darkside Chronicles, which pit you and a friend–or I suppose you could go it alone, and that’s not pathetic at all–against the Umbrella Corporation’s creations. Now, I know there are people like me who prefer to get free things while investing as little effort as possible, so with that in mind, today’s giveaway is going to be easy peasy. More after the break.
Hey there. How are you? Good, I hope. Historically, Tuesday’s tend to be largely uneventful. That’s why I’d very much like to ninja kick that trend squarely in the jaw–because I can totally get my leg up that high, no problem–by giving away some Metro: Last Light swag. Who doesn’t like free swag? Nazis, that’s who. A few weeks ago I gave out a few codes for Metro 2033, but this week the prizes are a little more tangible. They’re things you can touch, fondle, maybe even rub your face on them a bit, no one’s judging here. Head past the jump for more.
There can never be enough post-apocalyptic games set in a labyrinthine maze of tunnels below Moscow, I always say. In case you missed it back in 2010, we’re giving away three Xbox Live codes for Metro 2033–one of the most brilliantly atmospheric survival horror games I’ve ever played. It’s haunting and bleak, and it’s a game you really shouldn’t miss. As per usual, entering to win one of these codes is easy peasy; all you need to do is comment on this article telling me what you fear the most about living in an apocalyptic mutant-infested wasteland. Is it the idea of starving to death? Dying slowly of radiation poisoning? The creatures who live on the surface, itching for a chance to tear you apart? Or perhaps it’s the idea of living a life without your game console of choice? Let me know!
Update: This contest is now over, thanks for all the incredible comments! Congrats to the winners who are almost definitely beating zombie ass right now. If you lost, well, better luck next time.
In case you hadn’t noticed already, The Walking Dead Episode 1 is available now and it’s pretty damn great. In case you haven’t already claimed your copy of the game, here’s your chance to get it it all for free. I don’t know about you, but I love free stuff. Like, if I saw free stuff standing on a street corner with its leg out all sexy-like, I’d take it out for a fancy dinner then back to my place for Scrabble. Now about this giveaway; I’m giving out a season pass (read: all five episodes of The Walking Dead) for Steam and another code that’s good for getting the first episode on XBLA. Head past the break to learn how you can get in on this. READ MORE
Hey there little buddy, how are you today? Good I hope. As if it being the coming weekend wasn’t enough, I have 30 download tokens to give away for that wacky iOS game Curio I covered last month. This pill-popping title is ideal for anyone looking to inject a little crazy into their commutes, or during class, or while you’re “working” in your cubicle, and the best part of all this I’m giving them away to 30 lucky winners for free.
Well, that’s not entirely true, because in this harsh world nothing’s free. Thankfully, the price to be a winner isn’t too steep. Because Curio is about a man whose sole purpose is to escape from an insane asylum, what I want you to do is comment telling me something that drives you absolutely insane. Need inspiration? Head past the break for the game’s trailer, it should stimulate your crazy side. READ MORE
Hello friends! I have got some good news for you! Have you been aching for The Darkness II since reading Adam’s empowering REVIEW? Short on money? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve got 3 copies of The Darkness II to give away. 1 for the PC, 1 for the PS3, and 1 for the 360.
How do you win? Well, in the comments below, I want you to tell me what the worst thing you’ve ever done to a person is. I’m sure someone will throw in a ‘Oh I killed someone” comment. So before you do so, let me give you a hearty HA, HA. Also tell me what your preferred system to receive the game on is. The contest will run for 2 weeks from the date it is posted. I will contact you via PRIVATE MESSAGE, so make sure you check them when the contest is over. Now, tell the class how much of a dick you are. READ MORE
Guess what? I have something that you don’t. But there’s good news, because this thing that I have is something you can actually get, and before you ask, no, it’s not my good looks. To celebrate the impending release of Lollipop Chainsaw we’re giving away five incredibly cool pin-up calendars that feature the chainsaw-wielding femme fatale, Juliet Starling. Who deserves her own calendar more than a lollipop-loving cheerleader with a fondness for chainsawing zombies in half? No one, that’s who.
In case you need a little extra motivation, you should know that these calendars I have have all twelve months of the year on them. Now that’s cool, right? To win one of these things all I need you to do is comment telling me your favorite video game heroine. In case you need an idea of what I’m looking for, the list of badass video game women is a long one, and can include: Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine, Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft, Half-Life’s Alyx Vance, Halo’s Cortana, StarCraft’s Sarah Kerrigan, Uncharted’s Elena Fisher, Parasite Eve’s Aya Brea, Metroid’s Samus Aran, and like, a billion others. So get on it, people! READ MORE
We’ve already given out a code to one lucky winner but since we’re just so incredibly generous we’re now giving out not one, but three more codes to download the Escalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops. You see, we’re looking out for you because we understand that $15 is a lot to ask for a map pack, no matter how amazing it is. This way, if you’re one of the lucky winners you can spend your 15 bucks on drugs and hookers, like normal people do.
Joining in on this orgy of free stuff is easy peasy – remember our Premature Evaluation series? Well, we’re looking to replace the games in our meter with your choices, as opposed to ours. So that brings us to how you can enter: all you have to do is comment on this article with the nine games you think should be on the meter, ranging from the best game to the worst. Once you’ve spread a thick helping of your opinion sauce all over our faces you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win the DLC. READ MORE

Easy, right? Now get to it people, because this giveaway won’t be live for long since we don’t want our lucky winner to have to wait too long to play this fantastic DLC. In case you’re unfamiliar with just how amazing the Escalation pack is, let me name drop a few people that are in it: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead TV series), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), Danny Trejo (Machete) and George fucking Romero (you know who that is). Now get to it people and make me proud. READ MORE
There’s something you should know. This is hard for us to admit but we’ve been holding something back for a while. In fact, we’ve held it in for so long that we just can’t hide it anymore. Ready? Alright, here it is: we fucking love you. There, it’s out there. To show our affection for the people that keep us going, the guys and gals that put a smile on our face and the readers that we fantasize about each and every night before we go to sleep, we’re going to start handing out little rewards to random people. “What do I have to do,” You ask? It’s pretty simple actually.
To have a chance at winning whatever it is we’re giving out at the time what you need to do is just be yourself. At the end of each month we’re going to start picking out commenters on our articles to give away free things to. Try and say that five times fast, spectacular Splatterhouse schwag, spectacular Splatiwejfwfiefhwei. I think I just had an aneurism. I have t-shirts, shoes, PS3 and Xbox 360 copies of the game and, get this, foldable speakers. You want to know what they do? They fold. It’s a crazy world we live in, right? Before you do whatever I ask of you to earn some of this superb schwag you should know we give you free things because we want you to be ours forever. So in a way, accepting gifts from us is essentially the same thing as strapping on a tight leather suit and maybe even a snazzy red ball gag and letting us make you our love slave. So as long as you’re alright with that, why don’t you throw on your gear and come on a little adventure with me? I promise to make it worth your while. READ MORE
