Most of you are already fully aware that the third installment in Visceral Games’ Necromorph-stomping action horror franchise Dead Space released earlier this week, but what you might not know is what released alongside it. That’s Dead Space: Liberation, the third graphic novel based on the games and the second to be illustrated by immensely talented artist Christopher Shy, who I had the opportunity to chat with the other day about his amazing contributions to the franchise.

The first season of Telltale Games’ consistently amazing The Walking Dead ended with a bang last week, bringing an emotionally charged end to one of the most engaging video games I’ve played this year. That’s not it for the series, as Telltale’s confirmed they have plans for a season two and the retail bundle will be out on Dec 4th. If you haven’t had the chance to play The Walking Dead yet or are too impatient to wait for it to come to retail, boy, do I have a deal for you. A few days ago a box arrived on my doorstep, and after I had opened it, observed its contents, and gotten over the wave of disappointment that washed over me after I realized it wasn’t a baby or small animal being left to my care — I started to plan. Inside this box I found a ton of Resident Evil 6 goodies, including three special editions of the game, two normal copies (all for the Xbox 360), over a dozen t-shirts in a variety of sizes, and a bunch of Geltabz that you can slap on your controller to make it roughly 65% more sexy. It’s no secret that summer isn’t terribly kind to us gamers. Being an indoors people for much of the year, leaving the relative safety of our gaming dens, basements, hovels, or bedrooms means we have to deal with that cruel orb of light that hovers over us, watching and waiting. I squint when it’s cloudy, so direct sunlight isn’t my friend, and over the years my body has grown accustomed to an air conditioned environment, so I’m drenched in sweat not thirty seconds after leaving the shade.
