‘God Is Dead’ According To Jonathan Hickman

It may be a little early to speculate on this, but I think it’s safe to say that Jonathan Hickman will be in the runnings for creator of the year. He’s killing it on both of his “Avengers” titles, his new series “East of West” is a hit, and Bleeding Cool has just announced that he has yet another original series called “God is Dead” from Avatar Press. Taking a page from Nietzsche, the books follows the journey of God as he returns to a modern day Earth to deal with all the crap that has gone down in his absence. Unfortunately, he’s got to deal with the people who don’t want him back. READ MORE

Black Sabbath Release New Single “God Is Dead?”

Heavy metal legends Black Sabbath have finally released the first single from their upcoming album 13, which comes out June 11th. Entitled “God Is Dead?”, the song is a dark, foreboding, sinister rocker that has all the earmarks of a classic Sabbath track. And for those of you who doubted Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk, rest assured that he nailed his role and brings a solid performance that doesn’t seek to stand out or dazzle but rather fit in perfectly with what the band is doing. Give the song a listen below! READ MORE

Black Sabbath Currently In Studio Recording New Album

SiriusXM Liquid Metal DJ Jose Mangin was recently able to head into Shangri La Studios in Malibu, CA to catch up with Black Sabbath on their upcoming album, which will be the first studio release from them in over 33 years. It has been confirmed that the band has written 15 songs, 12 of which will appear on the final record (the other three will most likely be used as deluxe edition bonus tracks). One song title has been confirmed as “God Is Dead” (Really? Really??).

The guitars (and most likely drums) were laid down earlier this year in England, allowing singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler to record their parts in five-song increments with producer Rick Rubin. Butler is currently writing lyrics while Ozzy is laying down vocals.

Alright Sabbath fans, what are your thoughts? Are you excited for a new Black Sabbath album or do you think 33 years is too long for the magic to still be there? READ MORE
