Review written by Shannon Larkin
So it was with much trepidation that I boarded the plane on my way to the “Rock N Shock” Horror Convention in Worcester, MA. You may wonder why a horror fiend like myself would have these feelings en route to a cool convention of this nature, right? Well in a nutshell, I was invited to a screening of “Army Of The Damned” by the lead actor in the movie, Sully Erna, who also happens to be the singer for the band Godsmack (which is the band I’ve been in for over a decade). So I’m thinking, “What if this movie sucks? What if HE sucks?!” He knows how much I’m into horror, and that I’ve been writing reviews for the mighty Bloody-Disgusting.com for quite some time, so that is why I had my fingers firmly crossed that I wouldn’t be let down and have to give my friend and band member negative vibes. Sooo…
After meeting Sully at the bar across from the convention center and having a drink (and seeing many familiar faces, family, and friends), I headed over to check out the booths and soak in the vibe of the convention before heading to the screening. As usual, I’m like a kid in a candy store, and getting excited for the movie. Finally, it was time…
I headed to the third floor of the convention center and joined the queue. While waiting, there was a satellite bar in line so I had another drink and was let into the screening room after a short wait. I must say I was let down by the fact that it was not a theatre, as I always pictured seeing my friend’s film with popcorn, a comfortable seat, a giant screen, and a kick ass sound system. There was none of that. That’s the bad news; the good news is, it was still fun, very personal (hearing the friends and families of the cast and crew cheering was a first for me), and the movie was well done. Without further ado, the review… READ MORE
Shannon Larkin, Godsmack drummer and serious horror enthusiast, has written a review of the BD Selects film Truth Or Die, which hit On Demand and VOD on Tuesday! The movie is also available on iTunes and Amazon. You can read Shannon’s review below!
“The film portrays five teenage friends who are taken hostage by a vengeful psychopath and forced to play a party game with life-or-death consequences. Their only hope is to work together and turn the tables on their assailant, even if they must risk their lives in the process. The scene is set for a shocking denouement as secrets are revealed in an epic blood-soaked final confrontation.” David Oakes, Jennie Jacques, Liam Boyle, Jack Gordon and Alexander Vlahos all star. Bloody-Disgusting is thrilled to bring you the exclusive music video premiere for Candlelight Red‘s song “Demons”, which comes off their latest EP Demons (iTunes). The video shows the band rocking out amidst fiery explosions and burst of debris interspersed with footage of a woman vomiting blood in heat signature filter (she looks mighty cold). Although I don’t think this video is NSFW, keep in mind that the woman, at points in the video, is covering her bare breasts with her hands. Just thought I should give a fair warning! Check out the video below!
Candlelight Red is currently on the Rockstar Energy Uproar festival alongside Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, and more. Check out tour dates at the official Uproar website. READ MORE

Papa Roach have cancelled all remaining tour dates on the Rockstar Uproar festival due to singer Jacoby Shaddix being diagnosed with a nodule on his left vocal chord. Doctors have advised Shaddix that he needs to undergo corrective surgery to remove the nodule to prevent further damage.
Shaddix explains, “It’s no secret that I’ve been having issues with my voice lately. I was hoping to be able to go out there and kill it on this tour by resting and doing vocal exercises, but my voice has just gone out on me. I hate to let our fans down, but unfortunately surgery is the only way to fix it. The last thing we want to do is give our fans less than 100% every night. We know they’ll understand and we’ll be back better than ever.”
Starting Aug. 24th, the main stage acts of Godsmack, Staind, Shinedown, and Adelitas Way will have extended sets. READ MORE
Last week, Candlelight Red released a new EP entitled Demons, which you can snag from iTunes or Amazon. There are some obvious picks in the list, to be sure, but there a couple in there that surprised me as well. It’s a very fun list and you can check it out below. Godsmack has been forced to cancel the vast majority of their European tour dates due to singer Sully Erna suffering from vocal issues. The tour was supposed to have 14 total dates but the band was only able to perform two (London and Dessel, Belgium). This was Godsmack’s first European tour in nearly nine years.
Sully stated, “Sorry Europe. Seems like we can’t catch a break there lately. London you were one of the best crowds we’ve played to in a very long time…. Belgium, you were awesome as well. As for the rest of you in Europe that we weren’t able to reach, I promise you we’ll be back!! For now it’s lots of rest and fluids for me until my vocal specialist clears me to sing again. My deepest apologies Europe! You’ll see us again. Thanks for your support and understanding.”
As of now there is no word if this affects Godsmack’s co-headline status on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival tour. I really hope that this is a small issue and Sully is back to 100% soon. READ MORE
Godsmack drummer and horror expert Shannon Larkin is back with another Bloody-Disgusting Selects review! This time he tackles the zombie period-flick Exit Humanity, which is now available on VOD, DVD, and iTunes. You can read his in-depth, kinda spoiler-ish review below.
Godsmack will be co-headlining the 2012 Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival this summer. Tour dates and ticket information can be found here.
Starring horror icons Bill Moseley (Devil’s Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses), Dee Wallace (E.T., Cujo), Stephen McHattie (Pontypool, The Watchmen, 300), and new horror hero Mark Gibson, Exit Humanity is a zombie saga that tells the tale of the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. Brian Cox provides narration.
“How does a man deal with the loss of everything meaningful in his life, and the loss of mankind’s humanity amongst chaos and despair? Set in 1870’s Tennessee, Exit Humanity is the legend of Edward Young’s horrific and dramatic journey through an unexplainable outbreak of the walking dead to lay to rest the most important thing in his life, his son’s ashes. The bleak post-Civil War era backdrop highlights the severe divide that the United States was facing, and the true loss of hope that so many felt during this period in history.“ READ MORE

Review written by Chris Lockett
This last week saw the release of new music from some extremely heavy hitters. Inside you will find reviews for Soundgarden’s first brand new release since 1996’s “Down On The Upside”, Godsmack’s cover of Joe Walsh’ “Rocky Mountain Way”, a new song from P.O.D., the debut single from former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler’s new band (Adler), a new song from former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch’s new band (Love and Death), as well as the latest release from My Darkest Days. Only one of the songs can be crowned as my pick for “Single Of The Week”, and surprisingly enough, it was a pretty easy choice this week. Want to know which band gets the crown?
