Bloody-Disgusting Selects is quickly becoming the ultimate movie experience for horror fans. It’s not only because we’re so committed to bringing you the best films that we can find, but also because we love hearing your voice and seeing your reviews for each film. That’s why BD Music is beyond excited to announce that Shannon Larkin, drummer of multi-platinum hard rock band Godsmack, will be doing movie reviews for all future BD Selects films! Having spoken to Shannon, I can assure you doubters that he has a huge knowledge of horror and his love for the genre is just as deep and passionate as the rest of us.
In celebration of this partnership, we’re bringing out the second half of Shannon’s review for the newly released BD Selects film, Yellowbrickroad. You can check out the first half here. Check it out after the jump and keep an eye out for a Bloody-Disgusting exclusive interview in the next few days!
Godsmack vocalist Sully Erna has announced a short US tour in support of his solo album ‘Avalon‘. Sully will be part of an eight-piece ensemble, allowing the multi-layering from the album to transition easily into a live performance. A quote from Sully Erna: ”I’m very excited to bring Avalon to the road…It’s a trip down the rabbit hole into a world of beautiful scenery, world cultures, and amazing cinematic visuals that will leave you breathless at times”
Rockstar Energy Drink has announced the tour dates as well as this year’s line up for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. All the info is past the break and you all should be pretty excited with the line up this year. Who are you excited to see?
Recently, Sully Erna of Godsmack fame posted a MySpace EPlaylist of songs that shaped his musical upbringing and his styles of today. Unfortunately for MySpace (and fortunate for us), they didn’t allow any descriptions to be posted along with those songs. Well, Sully sent them on over to Bloody-Disgusting for all of you readers to check out after the jump!
Sully Erna’s solo project, ‘Avalon’, is now available on iTunes or in stores everywhere, so make sure to pick up a copy!
For more information on Sully’s solo project, check out his official MySpace or Facebook.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH continues their hard rock dominance this fall on a massive tour with Godsmack. “The Oracle 2010” tour is easily one of the most exciting events to come along this year as these two rock titans unite to bring fans a spectacle that they will remember for a lifetime. The history of radio hits between these two bands is astonishing and there are few bands out there right now that can match each group’s intensity and desire to bring their fans the very best each and every night. Expect the unexpected and a remarkable stage show yet reminiscent of Iron Maiden and Tool’s larger than life production.
Make sure to check out Bloody-Disgusting’s exclusive interview with drummer Jeremy Spencer HERE!
Five Finger Death Punch is unquestionably one of America’s flagship metal/hard rock artists, which is a statement further validated by the overwhelming success of their “Bad Company” Active Rock Radio campaign. The song has been charting (Top 40) for 15 straight weeks now on the Active Rock charts and continues to gain more momentum each week. It is currently at #2 this week chipping away at the heels of the coveted #1 spot. This is a massive accomplishment and a true testament to their work ethic considering they are the only band on an indie label that is anywhere near the top of the Active charts. Make no mistake, this is just the beginning of the group’s legacy that is quickly evolving into a global phenomenon.

Korn’s boycott of BP has started a ground swell of like-minded musicians intent on making a statement against the devastation in The Gulf caused by BP’s record setting oil spill. The following top touring artists have joined the cause and have committed to avoid the use of fuel sold by BP or its affiliates on their upcoming tours for 2010: Disturbed, Lady Gaga, Rise Against, Godsmack, Backstreet Boys, Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Slightly Stoopid, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Black Label Society with Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Creed, Filter, Hellyeah and Flogging Molly.
“This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the environment in U.S. history. From everything we’re hearing about now, it’s become clear that BP cut corners to put profit ahead of safety. The message we are sending should tell all the oil companies to spend the money and take the necessary precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” said Jonathon Davis of Korn. “I’m really proud that this many artists have already come on board, and I hope more will join soon.”
This past weekend, I was in Columbus, Ohio for the 2010 Rock on the Range Festival which had bands like Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Rob Zombie, Limp Bizkit and more performing. I spent most of my time with my photographer/videoperson Chrystal in the media tent, chatting with musicians like CJ from Drowning Pool, grabbing a minute with Chino from Deftones as well as all the guys from Taproot. I got interviews with Paul Phillips from Puddle of Mudd, ST1TCH from Mushroomhead and Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, so check back each day for a new video interview exclusively here on Bloody-Disgusting.
With over 30,000 people at this years Rock on the Range (the most attended year since the festivals inception), the two-day festival was overall great success. The weather on Saturday was a mix of rain and sunshine, making the Jagermeister and the Kicker stage fields muddy and filthy, something the audience took full advantage of. Day one had Godsmack and Three Days Grace as the headliners with bands like Deftones and Drowning Pool drawing huge numbers during the three-stage exchanges. Killswitch Engage also drew an enormous crowd with people lining the stairs and rails of the stadium to watch the band.
