[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] ‘Darkness Falls’ Edition!

I’ve never seen Darkness Falls. Once again this was before my time at Bloody-Disgusting and it never seemed like an important enough piece of horror history to bother catching up with. But maybe I’m wrong! But The Wolfman did see it, and while he didn’t love the movie – he found at least one scene worth writing about. Sometimes finding a saving grace in a film comes down to finding just one scene that really hits it out of the park. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his column!

We’re going to, on occasion, start examining good scenes that outpace the general quality of the film that contains them. And we hope you’ll come along for the ride! Head inside for his take on Darkness Falls! READ MORE

[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] ‘Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever’ Edition!!

I’m not convinced I’ve even seen Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever in its entirety, it was before my time at Bloody-Disgusting and – while I was a fan of the first ever since it came out on DVD – I never athletically sought ought the sequel. But The Wolfman did, and he didn’t much care for it (even though he loves director Ti West’s other films). But there’s one scene he likes! Sometimes finding a saving grace in a film comes down to finding just one scene that really hits it out of the park. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his column!

[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] The ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)’ Edition!

I thought the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was serviceable. Neither as fun as Friday The 13th 2009 (sue me, I love that one) or as abysmal as A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010. The Wolfman sort of feels the same way. He doesn’t exactly like it, but he can’t outright hate it (even if it’s of course nowhere near as good as the original). Sometimes finding a saving grace in a film comes down to finding just one scene that really hits it out of the park. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his column!

[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] ‘The Beacon’ Edition!

I’ve seen The Beacon. It was one of the very first five or so films I reviewed for this site! Oh, the days (of only a year or so ago). Anyway, it’s terrible – but I had a lot of fun with it (especially the makeup at the ending). But we each find our own ways through terrible movies, clinging on to different scenes that, however so briefly, part the clouds. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his column!

We’re going to, on occasion, start examining decent scenes in otherwise bad movies. And we hope you’ll come along for the ride! Head inside for his take on The Beacon! READ MORE

[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] ‘Wrong Turn 2′ Edition!!!

I actually like Wrong Turn 2. I think it’s a fun entry with some cool kills. But that doesn’t mean I can stop The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) from selecting it as his next target! You’ve already read his assessments of House Of Wax and Ghost Ship, so you know how he rolls. Just because you don’t like a movie, that doesn’t necessarily mean every single frame of it is bad! And that’s precisely the point of his column here.

[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] The ‘Ghost Ship’ Edition!!!

Another confession. In addition to the House Of Wax remake from last week’s article, I’ve never seen the Ghost Ship either. By most accounts it is terrible. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean every single frame of it is bad! I know there are plenty of moments I love in otherwsie sh*tty movies. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his first column for Bloody-Disgusting!
