The Demonologists

Joining the likes of other exorcism movies like The Rite and The Last Exorcism, Demonologists, from the legendary Silver Pictures, concerns a family of veteran ghost hunters who get more than they bargained for when they are called in to face what they soon realize is not a routine ghost job but a demon infestation.

[Podcast] Adam And TJ Talk The Best Games Of 2012 In The New Dead Pixels

Adam and TJ finally return from their trip to the mountains where they got caught in a massive cave in. Things definitely got a little weird and they will probably never be the same. They did however record a new Dead Pixels podcast, where they discussed many things. They flew way off subject and talked about some movies they saw recently. They also discussed their list of the best horror games of 2012. They also went pretty deep into the world of horror games from the Playstation 1 and 2. They even went back in time and searched horror on the Atari and Colecovision. The boys get weird as usual, but that’s what you guys like best about the podcast. Right? READ MORE

[Trailer Tracks] Dissecting the ‘Grave Encounters 2′ Trailer

Movie commercials offer us a great service; they not only show us which upcoming movies look good, but also which ones to avoid. And if one looks closely, they often reveal more than intended about the film in question. In honor of this profound art, I give you TRAILER TRACKS, an examination of upcoming movie commercials: What they say, what they don’t say, and what they say on accident about the product being sold to you, the excited chump.

[BD Review] ‘Grave Encounters 2′ Takes A Little Too Long To Get Going

Reviewed by Michael Ferraro

It’s impossible to name a found-footage movie that doesn’t take forever setting up its premise. Even passable titles, like The Blair Witch Project or [Rec], take a while to get going (although the exposition in those films are way more interesting than others to follow). The first 25 minutes of Cloverfield are almost impossible to get through, as well as Paranormal Activity (1-3), with only slightly more interesting openings. What all of these films have in common, however, is that once they do finally get going, those moments aren’t too bad. But is it worth it to sit through half of a dreadful film just to get to a few good moments? READ MORE

Vicious Brothers To Swap Paranormal For Extra-Terrestrials In Next Film.

The deceptively named Vicious Brothers, comprised of Collin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz are to follow up their Grave Encounters success with an alien abduction movie titled The Visitors.

Speaking in an interview over on Crave the duo hinted at a much more cinematic film that moves away from their found footage forte.

The Visitors should be going into production early next year and there is even talk of a third Grave Encounters movie should the sequel do well.

Grave Encounters 2; which sees a film student and horror blogger investigate the notorious asylum after discovering the events of the first movie were real, is currently available through VOD services and will hit select cinemas on October 12th.

Alternate ‘Grave Encounters 2′ Poster Premiere Delivers Reality Of Fear

We’ve landed an exclusive alternate poster for Grave Encounters 2, which states that: “Fear is just a word. Reality is much worse.” In the sequel the crew from the first film has disappeared and a film student decides to go searching for them.

While researching the events depicted in the original film and the subsequent disappearance of its lead ”actor” Sean Rogerson, Alex Wright received a bizarre video from a mysterious blogger named “DeathAwaits666.” Appearing to show Rogerson still alive but trapped inside the Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital from GRAVE ENCOUNTERS, Alex and his friends agree to meet the blogger at the infamous hospital in hopes of learning what really happened. To their horror, they quickly find themselves face-to-face with unspeakable evil. Realizing that they must be smarter and faster than Rogerson and his crew to avoid suffering the same fate, they use their knowledge of the original film to do whatever it takes to survive.

John Poliquin directed from a script penned by the original’s helmers, the Vicious Brothers. Grave Encounters 2 will be available nationwide on demand October 2nd with a theatrical roll out in October. READ MORE

First Clip From Already Completed ‘Grave Encounters 2′

Updated with a “leaked” (ha!) clip. Like it or not, Grave Encounters 2 is on its way. In the sequel the crew from the first film has disappeared and a film student decides to go searching for them. Which I suppose makes the film kind of meta (and the film student perhaps a bit stupid). Anyway, we have our first trailer and a new poster from the film. I’m told that if you liked the first one…

The Vicious Brothers Find More ‘Grave Encounters’ Footage

Update: Added the official sales poster inside. We also discovered the film is to be directed by John Poliquin.

Another Cannes announcement as Darclight Films is getting behind a sequel to the The Vicious Brothers’ absolutely generic and bland Grave Encounters, which apparently was a massive success on VOD.

Already in pre-production, “This terrifying new sequel follows a group of film students who break into the hospital from the first film to do their own paranormal investigation and quickly realize that Grave Encounters was not just a movie… it was real.

As eluded to in the synopsis, the movie is once again found footage. I love found footage, what I don’t love is found footage in a hospital or asylum. That’s so last year. READ MORE
