She Lived
The story revolves around a girl whose sanity is tested when her mother tries to kill her.

The slasher is being pegged as The Strangers on a college campus. AFM: With the rest of the campus home for the Thanksgiving holiday, Justine and a few of her friends spend the weekend in their college dormitory: studying, relaxing and blissfully unaware of the terror that is about to unfold outside in the cold. Suddenly, confronted by a gang of violent outcasts, Justine’s quiet long weekend becomes one long lesson in survival as her and her classmates are terrorized in increasingly bizarre and brutal ways, leaving it up to her to figure out who her attackers are…and if they can be stopped.
Alternate: Described as a Rosemary’s Baby type thriller, the story follows a girl who is alone on campus over the Thanksgiving break when a random encounter with a gang of violent outcasts leads them to target her as their next victim. To survive, she must conquer her deepest fears to outwit them and fight back.
The Weinstein Co.’s recently renamed Random (previously Kristy, then previously Satanic) has unveiled to EW the first pic of Ashley Greene ( Twilight, The Apparition) in the production. I’m sort of confused, this movie is supposed to be a “psychological thriller” but all I can do is laugh.
Oliver Blackburn (Donkey Punch) directed the film from Anthony Jaswinski penning the script. The film is currently shooting in New Orleans and also stars Haley Bennett and Lucas Till. Apparently, Greene is the leader of the gang. Thankfully, the piercings are fake.

The original pitch pegged this as a Strangers-inspired slasher.
Twilight and Apparition star Ashley Greene (pictured) is in talks to topline Dimension Films’ campus slasher Satanic, the project formerly known as Kristy, TheWrap reports.
Donkey Punch‘s Olly Blackburn directs with Haley Bennett also attached to star.

I’ll believe it when I see it, but Variety is reporting that Haley Bennett (The Hole, The Haunting of Molly Hartley) will topline Dimension Films’ long, long, long gestured Kristy, a psychological thriller to be helmed by Donkey Punch‘s Oliver Blackburn, with Anthony Jaswinski penning the most recent draft of the script by Scott Rosenberg and Gary Fielder.
Described as a Rosemary’s Baby type thriller, the story follows a girl who is alone on campus over the Thanksgiving break when a random encounter with a gang of violent outcasts leads them to target her as their next victim. It’s nice to see some casting news after watching several directors work their way through this project. Hopefully AFM brings them some solid movement. READ MORE
From director Joe Dante comes a 3D thriller that explores the fears and secrets buried deep within the human mind. After moving into a new neighborhood, brothers Dane and Lucas, along with their neighbor Julie, discover a bottomless hole in the basement of their home. They find that once the hole is exposed, evil is unleashed. With strange shadows lurking around every corner and nightmares coming to life, they are forced to come face to face with their darkest fears to put an end to the mystery of THE HOLE.
Director Joe Dante‘s children’s horror tale, The Hole – which stars Chris Massoglia, Haley Bennett, Nathan Gamble, Bruce Dern and Teri Polo – opens in theaters tomorrow September 28 before arriving on Blu-ray and VOD October 2 from Big Air Studios. In fact, if you’re in LA the film has added another location at the Downtown Independent Theater (251 S. Main St. Los Angeles, CA 90012). Mr. Disgusting thoroughly enjoyed the film and I thought it was a lot of fun myself.

One of my favorite TIFF movies a few years back *read the review) was Joe Dante’s incredible 3-D family film The Hole, which is finally arriving on home video September 25, says VideoETA. No word on specs or if the Blu-ray will be in 3-D (it was actually shot in 3-D and looks great), but we’ll update you as soon as word comes in.
“From visionary director Joe Dante comes a suspense thriller that explores the fears and secrets buried deep in the human mind. Life couldn’t possibly get worse, or so thought 17-year-old Dane (Chris Massoglia) and his 10-year-old brother, Lucas (Nathan Gamble), when their single mother, Susan (Teri Polo), uproots them from New York City to the sleepy little town of Bensonville. For Dane the only exciting thing about their new town is the beautiful girl next door, Julie (Haley Bennett). With Susan spending more and more time at work, Dane and Lucas are left unattended to explore the depths of their eerie new residence. With Dane paying more attention to Julie, he has far less time and patience for his little brother. But then everything changes when they find a sinister bottomless hole under a locked trap door in the basement. As the brothers experiment with the hole, they realize that the cold pit goes on forever. They drop a nail and never hear it hit bottom. They lower a flashlight and a video camera, and they get consumed by the darkness. Hoping for some answers about the house’s past, Dane and Lucas bring Julie in on their new discovery. When the hole is exposed, evil is unleashed. With strange shadows lurking around every corner and past nightmares coming to life, the trio will have to come face-to-face with their darkest fears to put an end to THE HOLE.”
In this tale of spell binding suspense, something evil lurks just beneath the lush surfaces of teenaged girl’s private school world – and it holds the rights to her very soul. Now, on the eve of her 18th birthday, Molly Hartley is about to discover the truth of just who, or rather what, it is she is destined to become.
