OMFG Of The Summer: Halo-8 And Tim Seeley Announce Voice Actress For ‘Hack/Slash’!

Ladies and gentlemen, gather round, because at long last Halo-8, Tim Seeley, and the rest of the crew behind the “HACK/SLASH” animated comic have officially announced the lucky lady who will be voicing the series. Now remember that this part has been pretty coveted within the industry, with the likes of Meghan Fox expressing interest in the part for the live action version. Halo-8 founder Matt Pizzolo had this to say about the role…

“Cassie is a great role and there are a lot of established actresses who’d love to bring her to life. We feel really blessed by the actress we’ve selected to take on the role – not only is she a fan-favorite but she herself is a fan of Tim, Cassie, and Vlad. With Hack/Slash, we’re working more with green screen and roto-style animation, so this actress will literally be taking on Cassie’s skin.”

With all that being said, we are VERY proud to announce that the lovely scribe behind “WE WILL BURY YOU”, “SUICIDE GIRLS”, Brea Grant will be giving the horror icon her voice for the series!

It hasn’t been a bad year for Grant, as this is the second big casting announcement for the actress, who earlier this year confirmed that she would be taking on a regular role in Showtime’s “DEXTER”. Most horror fans know Brea for her work in Rob Zombie’s second “HALLOWEEN” film, as well as the underground hit “MIDNIGHT MOVIE”. Unfortunately, up until now we have not gotten to see enough of the actress in a central light, but thankfully that is all changing. If you ask us it is about time! READ MORE

OMFG Of The Day #2: Halo-8 To Announce ‘Cassie Hack-Tress’ At SDCC!

For years now one of the hottest topics among horror comic fans has been “who will play Cassie Hack?”. The competition has been fierce, with actresses as high-up as Meghan Fox expressing interest in the part. However, there can be only one scantily clad babe weilding a baseball bat and showing more than one instance of lesbian tendencies. Sorry ladies. Them’s the breaks. Well fans your time has come, because this week at San Diego ComiCon entertainment company Halo-8 will be announcing the lucky lady who will be voicing the character in their upcoming “HACK/SLASH” animated films. Beyond the break you can get all the details on the Halo-8 panels including “GRANT MORRISON: TALKING WITH GODS”, “GODKILLER”, and MORE! Read on from the skinny…

‘Hack/Slash’ Actress To Be Announced At Comic-Con

A feature length adaptation of Hack/Slash has been in the making for a long time, and it looks like we might get some closure pretty soon. Last time we heard anything, the live-action film was set up at Relativity with Steven Susco writing the script (a lot of people have probably taken a look at the script written by Tim Seeley and Stefano Caselli from 2007 as well), but it looks like Halo-8 is in production on a different illustrated feature that mixes comic book sequential art with 3D CGI and rotoscoped animation of live-action performances.

Originally announced after Comic Con last year, director Matt Pizzolo has been working on a new visual style for the film that will progress from Godkiller (review) – he’s also working on Godkiller 2.

The actress who will be stepping into Cassie Hack’s shoes will be announced by creator Tim Seeley and Pizzolo at Halo-8′s panel on Saturday at 7pm in Room 9.

Cassie is a great role and there are a lot of established actresses who’d love to bring her to life. We feel really blessed by the actress we’ve selected to take on the role–not only is she a fan-favorite but she herself is a fan of Tim, Cassie, and Vlad” says Pizzolo. “With Hack/Slash, we’re working more with green screen and roto-style animation, so this actress will literally be taking on Cassie’s skin.

The only hint given in the press release is that the actress will already be attending Comic-Con for a genre series she stars in. That could mean someone from True Blood, The Vampire Diaries, something on Syfy or any one of the numerous new shows in attendance. Heck, it could even be someone from the Locke & Key pilot. In the past, actresses including Megan Fox and Kat Dennings have spoken publicly about how they’d love to play Cassie Hack, and a Twitter campaign #AllisonScag4Cassie trended for Warehouse-13‘s Allison Scagliotti to win the coveted role.

Halo-8 Acquires Exclusive Rights To Grant Morrison Documentary ‘Talking With Gods’

Quite possibly one of the most iconic, well known, and most talented comic book scribes of all time, Grant Morrison has worked on everything from “BATMAN”, to “SPIDERMAN”, “SUPERMAN” and everyone in between. As mysterious as he is talented, the 50 year old comic icon has decided to (finally) let his fans into his world, and to do so he has enlisted the help of “GODKILLER” producers Halo-8 to distribute and market the project titled “TALKING WITH GODS”.
