7 Sexed Up Horror Kills!!!

We all know that sex and violence have been bedfellows in entertainment since the dawn of time. They’ve certainly walked hand in hand since the dawn of cinema, so much so that this list could never hope to be completed in just one outing. In fact, you could probably have an entry on this list for every legit slasher ever made (I even had to make a rule about including only one Friday The 13th film).

While I’m not 100% sure of the science behind what causes the desire to see these two elements combined, I’m guessing it has something to do with both of them being such primal forces. At any rate, it’s here to stay – so why not look at some of the best scenes this unholy combination of elements has to offer?

Head inside for a look at some of the best sex-related kills in horror! Let us know your favorites in the comments! READ MORE

‘Frozen’ And ‘Hatchet 2′ Producer Jason Miller To Direct Found Footage Movie

I caught up with producer Jason Miller (Frozen, Hatchet 2, Chillerama) last night on the red carpet for the Eyegore Awards (which kicked off this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood) and he filled us in on his new project.

So you have a found footage project coming up? “I do… I haven’t announced it yet but I guess I can give you the exclusive [laughs]. We’re still negotiating with a distributor but we’ve shot half of it on our own and now we’re just wrapping it up.” And this is you behind the camera right? “Yes. Writing and directing.

Miller directed last year’s short Infected which starred Alexis Peters, BD alum Brian Collins, David Foy and A.J. Bowen. He also served as second unit director on Hatchet 2 and Frozen so he’s definitely been working on his chops. I’m definitely interested to see where this goes.

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights dates are September 21, 22, 28, 29 and October 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, 28 and 31.

Danielle Harris Confirms Role In ‘Hatchet 3′!

Danielle hatchet2 42312 Danielle Harris Confirms Role In Hatchet 3!

I think a lot of us were assuming that Danielle Harris (Among Friends, Hatchet 2) would reprise her role as Marybeth in Hatchet 3, and now that assumption has been confirmed.

Speaking with OBX Entertainment Harris said, “I’m excited to be starting Hatchet III next. It’s going to be great.” This is from an appearance at this past weekend’s “Blood On The Beach” convention, and OBX claims she gave the statement yesterday. Given the timing and the fact that Hatchet 3 is currently prepping and is about to shoot in and around New Orleans, Louisiana – I’d say the margin for error is pretty low.

Hatchet 3 will be written and produced by series creator Adam Green who is handing the directing reigns over to longtime camera operator BJ McDonnell. It will continue where the story left off in Hatchet 2, as a young woman sought revenge on the malevolent Victor Crowley who killed her family while they were fishing in Louisiana swamp country. ArieScope Pictures and Dark Sky Films will likely release the film sometime in 2013.

In stores February 2, the DVD and Blu-ray both feature: “Hatchet II: Behind the Screams”, Trailers, Teaser, TV Spot, Radio Spot, Production Audio commentary track featuring writer/director Adam Green, Cinematographer Will Barratt, and Make-up Effects Supervisor Robert Pendergraft, and Cast Audio commentary track featuring writer/director Adam Green and actors Kane Hodder and Tony Todd.
