Victor Crowley Engulfed In Flames On Official ‘Hatchet III’ Poster

In limited theaters June 14 from MPI/Dark Sky Films, here’s the official one-sheet for Hatchet III, which blasts Victor Crowley in a flury of flames.

The sequel marks the directorial debut of BJ McDonnell who previously has handled A and B camera operations on such features as Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and the first two Hatchet films. Danielle Harris and Kane Hodder return in Hatchet III and are joined by Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th 2009), Caroline Williams (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2), Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs) and others.

The film continues the tale of the now-iconic villain Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder). As a search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces and carnage left behind from the first two films, Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hunts down the true secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left the ghost of Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.READ MORE

Robert Englund 060612 [This Day In Horror] Robert Englund Born On June 6, 1947

We’re starting a new series of posts where we – on occasion – will highlight something significant that occurred in the yesteryears of a specific date. It won’t always be birthdays, but today we are noting that Robert Englund was born on this date in 1947.

A Nightmare On Elm Street Parts 1-6, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, Freddy Vs. Jason, The Phantom Of the Opera, C.H.U.D. 2: Bud The Chud, “Freddy’s Nightmares”, The Adventures Of Ford Fairlane, Night Terrors, Wishmaster, Urban Legend, Strangeland, Hatchet, Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon, Zombie Strippers and many, many… many more! ‘Hatchet’ Camerman Gets Directing Opportunity on ‘Hatchet 3′

BJ McDonnell, who as cameraman helped make Hatchet and Hatchet II two of the most effective slasher films of recent years, will make his directorial debut on Hatchet 3.

The long-awaited announcement was made today by franchise creator Adam Green. Green, who wrote and directed the first two films in the series, and whom will work closely with McDonnell on all aspects of the production.

Hatchet 3 will continue where the story left off in Hatchet 2, as a young woman sought revenge on the malevolent monster that killed her family while they were fishing in Louisiana swamp country.

‘Chillerama’ Trailer Emerges From The Grindhouse, What Do You Think?

The Chillerama trailer has finally arrived in anticipation of the film’s premiere on September 15th at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

So far it looks pretty fun to me. I’m not completely blown away (and I suspect I’ll like some of the four installments more than others) but I suppose the point is that this is kind of a lark for all involved, a chance to stretch out before their next feature.

From the depraved minds of directors Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, The Dark Backward), Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs, Driftwood), Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen), and Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Knights of Badassdom), Chillerama is a festival of gore, guts, goofiness and good times.

It’s the closing night at the last drive-in theater in America and Cecil B. Kaufman (Richard Riehle, Bridesmaids, Hatchet) has planned the ultimate marathon of lost film prints to unleash upon his faithful cinephile patrons. Four films so rare that they have never been exhibited publicly on American soil until this very night! What could possibly go wrong?

Chillerama is out on DVD and Blu-Ray November 29th. Check out the trailer after the jump.
