I’ll fully admit that I never really got into this band. Hatebreed Slams CNN After Being Tagged In “White Power Rock” Article

In an article about Wade Page, the ex-soldier who brutally murdered six people at a Sikh temple in Milwaukee, WI, and his white power music relations, Anti-Defamation League director Lonnie Nasatir tagged the heavy metal band Hatebreed as one of many white supremacist bands operating today. Naturally, the Hatebreed camp didn’t take kindly to this connection. Singer Jamey Jasta took to Twitter to say, “CNN fixed that story & said they “regret the error” but it still sucks to be labeled that when we’ve NEVER been down w/ racism.” He continued by stating, “Our music & message has always been about bringing people together, not tearing them apart. Hardcore, metal, punk, all races, religions etc“.

The ADL posted an apology on Facebook. READ MORE

[Album Review] P.O.D. ‘Murdered Love’

Review by Chris Lockett: It’s been four years since Christian Nu-Metal band P.O.D. released their last album, and now, having dealt with an uncertain future, the band is back with its original lineup, and set to release their eighth studio album Murdered Love. The band has garnered a reputation as being very hit or miss, and the general consensus on their last two studio albums is that they were lackluster to say the least. But with the odds seemingly against them, has P.O.D. been able to craft a listenable album, or should the band have just quit while they were ahead? Hit the jump to find out. READ MORE

Baptized In Blood Debut To Be Released Digitally Oct. 19th

Canada’s BAPTIZED IN BLOOD are set to storm out of their native Canada and mount a takeover of American metal audiences when they release their self-titled, debut full-length for Roadrunner via digital retailers nationally on October 19. The band will also play alongside A Life Once Lost at the CMJ Music Marathon Metal Sucks Showcase, which will be held October 20 at Club Europa. Baptized in Blood have already turned the discerning head of a metal icon, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, who was so impressed that he  has taken on the role of co-manager for the London, Ontario-based band, alongside Mark Adelman.

Additionally, Mike D of Dark Icon Design, who also serves as the bassist for Killswitch Engage, designed the album artwork. While Baptized in Blood may have friends in high places, the band doesn’t rely on those associations; the five-piece delivers the goods with their bottom heavy, unrelenting metallic assault. Baptized in Blood are a classic Roadrunner signing that remains true the label’s long-standing history as the standard bearer of the best in hard rock and metal.
