CorridorLand22312 The Corridor Gets A New Poster And Release Date!

IFC Midnight will release Evan Kelly’s Canadian thriller The Corridor on March 30th. A piece about male-bonding and miscommunication described as “The Big Chill slammed into The Evil Dead.” Stephen Chambers, James Gilbert, David Patrick Flemming, Matthew Amyotte, and Glen Matthews all star.

“Tyler Crawley needs his friends, now more than ever. Recovering from mental stress in the wake of his mom’s death, Tyler has been counting on a weekend with the guys to bring him back to normal. For Tyler’s sake his old buddies rally themselves, though the “glue” which keeps them together has weakened with the passing of recent years — a natural enough occurrence.

But with the introduction of a single unnatural occurrence — the corridor itself — the knots in these male bonds will come loose with a terrifying speed. Both a fantastical passageway to somewhere and a passageway into the mind of the male animal, the corridor will lead Tyler and his friends to the very edge of sanity and beyond…”

Is it me or does the film look kind of like Dreamcatcher? But perhaps a better version of it? Agree? Disagree?

IFC Films Plans April 20 Release For The Moth Diaries

IFC Films has announced American Psycho director Mary Harron’s The Moth Diaries for limited release on April 20. No word on the VOD or DVD date. IFC typically releases their films in NYC theaters.

Starring Lily Cole, Scott Speedman, Sarah Gadon and Sarah Bolger, we recently posted the first ever footage from the vampire flick that takes place during a full moon where Lucy takes a dangerous peak inside someone’s room. You’ll see no bats, but plenty of moths.

“At an exclusive girls’ boarding school, a sixteen-year-old girl records her most intimate thoughts in a diary. The object of her growing obsession is her roommate, Lucy Blake, and Lucy’s friendship with their new and disturbing classmate. Arriving on DVD and VOD later this year from IFC Films is American Psycho director Mary Harron’s The Moth Diaries, which received a rash of a negative buzz out of its Toronto premiere last September.

IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to director Mary Harron’s The Moth Diaries three months after the gothic thriller played at the Venice and Toronto film festivals. The buzz surrounding the film was highly negative.

“The Moth Diaries,” based on the novel by Rachel Klein, was adapted by Harron (director of American Psycho) and stars Lily Cole, Sarah Gadon, Sarah Bolger and Scott Speedman.

“Story centers on Bolger’s character, a young girl haunted by her father’s suicide who’s a student at an exclusive female boarding school. She pours her heart out in a diary, much of it focused on her beloved roommate — but their relationship changes drastically with the arrival of a mysterious new student, portrayed by Cole.” READ MORE

IFC Films has finally locked in a November 29 DVD date for Miguel Angel Vivas’ (interview) awesome Spanish-language home invasion horror flick Kidnapped.

One of the best genre films of the year stars Guillermo Barrientos, Dritan Biba and Fernando Cayo as “Jaime, Marta and their daughter Isa who have just moved into a luxurious new house. Marta begins to prepare the dinner and puts a bottle of champagne on ice to celebrate the move. As night falls, three hooded men violently force their way into the house. Panic ensues and soon the real violence will begin.”
