Go Down ‘The Road’ A Piece In These New Images

Roadland40312 Go Down The Road A Piece In These New Images

Filipino director Yam Laranas’ (Sigaw, The Echo) The Road just got a little bit longer and a lot eerier with the release of these four striking new stills. They don’t contain the gore we saw in our last look at the film, but they certainly convey a lot of atmosphere.

A twelve year old cold case is reopened when three teens are missing in an abandoned road. In the course of the investigation, deeper and gruesome stories of abduction and murders are discovered. After more than two decades, the secrets of the haunted road may finally be revealed.

Carmina Villarroel, Marvin, Agustin, TJ Trinidad, Rhian Ramos and Barbie Forteza all star. The film features music and Soundcscapes by Johan Söderqvist (Let The Right One In). The Road opens May 11 from Freestyle. It will also arrive day and date across digital platforms including YouTube, iTunes, Amazon, Netflix and Hulu Plus.

GRAPHIC CONTENT PICK OF THE WEEK: Lonmonster – ‘Green Wake’ #6

By this point it’s become almost habitual to choose Green Wake as the GC Pick Of The Week. From the very first issue, Green Wake had my attention, and now, as lame as it sounds, it has my heart (you can make fun of me in the comments). Green Wake is the kind of mystery tale that leaves you feeling dirty on the inside because of how much pleasure you derive from such a grotesque world. It’s the kind of story you wish you had created. It’s the kind of horror tale that’s more than just blood and guts. Creators Kurtis J. Wiebe and Riley Rossmo fashioned an absorbing, relentless tale of horror and criminal suspense that took comic fans by storm over the summer months, and what better time to welcome the start of the new ongoing than Halloween. GRAPHIC CONTENT PICK OF THE WEEK: Lonmonster – ‘The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor’

With season two of AMC’s The Walking Dead under way, shattering records, the zombie craze is more alive than ever. The Walking Dead has always been that special something in the hearts of horror comic fans, and the series continues to find more advocates as it branches off into new mediums. Season one of TWD was proof that it can be successfully adapted to television, but can Kirkman do it again? Will TWD make for an exciting and psychologically horrifying novel as well? I strongly believe that TWD, despite how mainstream it becomes, will always stay true to its fans and always do its best to give a good name to the zombie movement. Rise of the Governor doesn’t simply retell events from the comics, it provides a first person origin story for the fan favorite villain known as ‘The Governor’. Just in time for the Halloween season, this is one book no TWD fan should pass up. Read on for the skinny…
