The production of horror anthologyThe Profane Exhibit continues, with Yoshihiro Nishimura (Tokyo Gore Police, Helldriver) recently wrapping his segment. Also working on the project are Richard Stanley, Michael Todd Schneider, Marian Dora, Ryan Nicholson and Andrey Iskanov.

Per Twitch, “Japanese cult director Yoshihiro Nishimura has just completed shooting his segment of international horror anthology project ‘The Profane Exhibit’ and he has enlisted a familiar face to help him do so. Nishimura’s ‘Tokyo Gore Police’ star Eihi Shiina – best known for her lead role in Takashi Miike’s ‘Audition’ – once again takes the lead for the director in ‘The Hell-Chef’.

 The Addicted, Yet Another Found Footage Horror Heading To The Clinic

Director Sean J. Vincent took to his official blog to host production diaries and to let his readers choose the official poster for his UK haunted The Addicted. Empire shares the winning poster that’s posted inside.

The site explains that “the haunted-house tale revolves around recovering addicting David, a resident at The Manor rehabilitation unit in 1987 who comes under the twisted ‘care’ of clinical director Chris Hunter. Instead of nursing David to health, Hunter keeps him hooked, before poisoning him with toxic heroin and leaving him with horrifically scarred. Medical bastard. While the evil director is carrying on with his wife, David kills himself.

Picking up 25 years later, Hunter’s daughter Nicole, an aspiring TV journo, makes the not entirely sensible decision to spend the night at the now-derelict clinic, filming the place with her boyfriend.

Out of EFM we caught wind of a new horror project from director Glenn Withrow entitled The Mooring. We’ve also got our hands on the trailer and official sales poster.

A group of gadget-addicted teenage girls come together in Idaho to work through a program run by psychologist Nancy. It’s a program about change, losing dependency on technology and forming real relationships. They set off up river in a houseboat, but are soon forced to moor and camp on a riverbank in the middle of nowhere. During the night, a strange, aggressive couple moors beside them, harassing the group. When the couple departs the next morning, Nancy decides to leave the girls briefly to get the boat fixed. The drifters return, setting out on a murderous rampage, hunting the girls down one-by-one through a thick, claustrophobic Idaho forest.

Interactive Zombie Adventure ‘Deliver Me To Hell’ Gets Big Screen Treatment

Camelot Entertainment Group announced today that it will co-produce an interactive zombie comedy titled Deliver Me To Hell, about zombie filled streets where only delivery boys brave to save the world.

Hell is to be produced by New Zealand filmmaker Logan McMillan , who originally created an interactive short to promote the pizza chain Hell’s Pizza. It’s an interactive adventure where the viewer chooses the path of characters and decides their fate. To date, the short has received over 5.9 million views on YouTube. Watch it above.

LA-by-way-of-England singer Carina Round will be releasing a new album, Tigermending, on May 1st. The album will feature guest appearances from Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Brian Eno, and Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins).
Round says the recording process was a “…time and freedom to experiment and explore,” which gave each song a unique personality, ranging from “guitar ragers, acoustic beauties, electronic epics, a little prog moment and all the good stuff in between with a strong backbone running through the whole record.”
The singer was the opening act for recent Puscifer tours as well as pulling double-duty and singing with the band.

Imagination Worldwide, who doesn’t have much of a “quality” track record when it comes to horror, is at EFM selling Devil Seed (formerly The Darkness), which is directed and co-written by Greg A. Sager, and stars Vanessa Broze, Michelle Argyris, Shantelle Canzanese, Kevin Jake Walker, Wayne Conroy and Michael G. Wilmot.

We’ve landed the bloody sales art and the following plot crunch: “Alexandra is a lively college student returning to live with her roommates, Jessica and Breanne after the summer holidays. After a night of drinking, Alex agrees to a psychic reading to learn about her future with her boyfriend, Brian, but during the reading a dramatic turn of events causes SOMETHING to go drastically wrong. When Alex awakes the next day, she can’t remember the events of the night before. She begins to hear creepy noises, hallucinate, black out and receive unidentifiable scratch marks all over her body. Afraid she’s going crazy, she seeks help from her friends but Jessica, Breanne and Brian are incapable of comprehending the scope of the darkness descending UPON her. Instead, Alex receives help from a school professor and his father who have dealt with the supernatural before. But as Alex’s condition worsens, it becomes apparent that it may already be too late to stop the entity from using Alex’s body as a gateway into our world.

Deadheads’ starring Michael McKiddy and Ross Kidder, “follows two zombie slackers who find themselves surprisingly reborn from the dead amid a disastrous zombie outbreak. [EFM '12] Celluloid Nightmares Digs Up ‘Dead Mine’

Celluloid Nightmares has picked up international rights outside Asia to English-language action horror Dead Mine, co-produced by HBO Asia and Singapore-based Infinite Studios, reports Screen Daily.

It tells the story of a group of treasure hunters who venture into the Indonesian jungle to search for gold looted by Japanese forces during World War II. But they find themselves under attack and trapped underground in a Japanese Imperial Army bunker.

Directed and co-written by UK director Steven Sheil (Mum & Dad), the film stars cult Japanese action star Miki Mizuno (Bayside Shakedown), UK actors Sam Hazeldine and Les Loveday and Malaysian actress Carmen Soo.

The film, currently in post-production, marks the first time that HBO Asia has produced a feature in Asia. Celluloid Nightmares will also represent Japanese rights.

Infinite Studios, previously called Infinite Frameworks, is a production and facilities company which is constructing new studio developments in Singapore and the Indonesian island of Batam. Dead Mine was filmed on Batam, both on location and at Infinite’s sound stages. READ MORE

Content announced today that Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz, the third installment of the Outpost franchise, will go into production on April 10. The film is set to shoot in Scotland and Yorkshire.

Kieran Parker will direct the script penned by Rae Brunton. The cast includes Bryan Larkin (Battleground) as the lead Russian Dolokhov and James “The Colossus” Thompson – Ultimate Combat World Heavy Weight Champion as The Berserker.

The third Outpost will be an origin story with new baddies and Nazi Zombies cage fighting with Russian Special Forces! Content’s Jamie Carmichael promise sit’ll be “the goriest and most violent fight fest seen.

‘Haunted Ship’ Begins Filming This May

After filming the above short film “Infested Ship”, filmmakers will be returning to the ship to film a full feature entitled Haunted Ship. The cast and crew will be living aboard the ship during the filmmaking.

Being helmed by Jack Skyyler, Alex Zinzopoulos, & Joel Brook, the film is a psychological/supernatural horror film shooting aboard the U.S.S. Salem. The U.S.S. Salem is a 700 foot heavy gun cruiser. The ship is believed to be haunted and has been documented by Ghost Hunters and A&E’s “Ghost Story.”

The cast and crew of a reality TV show are sealed into the haunted ship, the U.S.S. Salem, from sunset to sunrise. They intend to film a Halloween special; but instead, they become victims of a supernatural predator who turns them against each other and begins to kill them off one by one. . .
