I’m crazy excited for the arrival of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but I’m also understandably a little frustrated I won’t be able to grab either console as soon as I would like. My therapist told me I shouldn’t bottle up these emotions, otherwise I’ll return to my dark place and black out, only to wake up three days later covered in pig’s blood (at least I think it’s pig’s blood) with odd, almost alien markings covering my entire body. Since I’d rather that didn’t happen to me again, I’m going to express my emotions the only way I know how, by writing to you.
All this week I’ve been celebrating the end of a wonderful console cycle with features covering the best horror games of this generation — from AAA blockbusters to smaller indie efforts — as well as a recent look back at some of the most disappointing games.
Since I’d rather not end this on a such a sour note, I’ve decided to extend this celebration with a look at some of this generation’s best horror-themed DLC and expansions — see my picks after the jump!
I’m a definite fan of the Infamous games, partly because of how fun developer Sucker Punch made getting around the world. Gliding from one building to the next and surfing power lines in the first two games never stopped being fun, then in Festival of Blood you could actually explode into a swarm of bats and fly around the world.
In Infamous: Second Son, we get to step into the stylish boots of a new super-powered protagonist, Delsin Rowe, who comes armed with smokey powers that look just as fun to cause chaos with. Some of these new abilities were shown off in a new Second Son trailer that just surfaced from Gamescom, which you can find after the jump.
Rising metalcore band Motionless In White are making waves in the music world, their last album Infamous debuting at #53 on the Billboard 200. They also snagged Slipknot percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan to direct the video for “America”, creating a very much talked about music video that has drawn a lot of critical praise.
I caught up with bassist Devin “Ghost” Sola and keyboardist Joshua Balz to discuss the future plans for the band. Check it all out in our exclusive video interview below.

The third entry in Sucker Punch Productions’ open world anti-superhero series is called Infamous: Second Son, and it looks marvelous. I’m a big fan of the Infamous series, few games offer the satisfaction that is surfing on electrical wires, tossing cars with shockwaves, and being an overall badass. Second Son won’t follow Cole, the electrified anti-hero from the first two games — instead it stars Delsin Rowe, who brings with him a brand new arsenal of abilities.
No solid release date was given, outside of the promise that it will launch before March 31, 2014, exclusively on the PlayStation 4. Read on for a look at its action-packed E3 trailer.

It finally happened. Sony has revealed the PS4, and whether or not you’re happy about it, it’s what everyone is talking about. We still don’t know what the console itself looks like — personally, I’m hoping for something small, matte, and black. No more fingerprint magnets, please. We’ve only heard of a small number of the games we can expect to see on the console, but if the list so far is any indication, it’s looking way more exciting than the Wii U’s offering so far. After the break I’ve compiled a list of games and some details and trailers to help you decide if the PlayStation 4 has what you’re looking for.
Horror-influenced metalcore band Motionless In White have released a video for “Black Damask”, which comes off their Fearless Records release Infamous (iTunes). The video takes live footage from the ‘Infamous’ tour and overlays the lyrics, which I actually kinda liked. You can watch the video below.
MIW will be touring Europe with Asking Alexandria. You can check out the tour dates below. READ MORE
If you enjoyed yesterday’s batch of memorable horror game weapons then you’re going to love this. Horror games may not be known for their excess of badass weapons, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been a few games that have brought us some excellent tools with which to beat down the undead hordes, alien intruders, demons, demon worshippers, and other abominations that are unfortunate enough to get in our way when we’re in the mood to kick some ugly monster ass. Here’s the second half of our list of the best weapons of the horror genre.
Recently the video game Infamous was released. Infamous tells the story of Cole McGrath, a survivor of a bomb blast but then finds out he has come out of it with electrical powers. Now does Cole use his powers and save his friends/city or does he just destroy it all? The free comic that is available online tells the prequel to the story and fills in some of the cracks the game had. Who doesn’t like free?!?
