In preparation of the impending arrival of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, over the last week I’ve rounded up this generation’s best horror games, covering everything from AAA blockbusters to smaller, indie efforts. Those games deserve to be played, celebrated and remembered. The following? Not so much.
Unfortunately, while I wish every game could be worthy of our time, sometimes, for a variety of reasons, a game comes along that really, really isn’t. Every so often we’re given a game that’s uninspired, poorly designed, boring or some combination of the three.
If you’ve been burned, head on for this generation’s 10 most disappointing horror games to see if the game made the list!
Hammerpoint Interactive’s controversial post-apocalyptic MMO The War Z caused quite a stir last year after its developer lied about the game’s features and added microtransactions like “pay to revive” after it reached the top of the Steam charts. I’m not sure what’s gone on with it since then, except for now it’s being referred to as Infestation: Survivor Stories.
Last I saw the game it bordered on unplayable. I’m not sure if this new title is an attempt at putting a little space between it and that other MMO it tried so hard to emulate, or if it’s to further separate it from its controversial first incarnation, but really, does it even matter?

Ratt have been forced to cancel their upcoming European tour dates as vocalist Stephen Pearcy will be undergoing urgent hernia surgery this week. The band regrets missing the European dates on the heels of the release of their first album in eleven years, Infestation, which enjoyed a high chart debut in European territories.
Ratt shares this disappointment with all their European fans who planned to attend the shows at Sweden Rock, Sauna Open Air Festival, UK Download, Hellfest, Grasspop and Gods of Metal as well as their other dates. The band is looking into rescheduling as many of the shows as possible.
Pearcy’s doctors anticipate a full recovery in time for Ratt’s North American touring schedule, which includes a run with The Scorpions, beginning in July and running through September.
