[UPDATED] Apple Bans ‘Saga’ #12 Over Gay Sex…Or Not

Due to a “provocative” scene that appears on the first two pages of Saga #12, Apple has banned all digital sales on the issue for their devices. The images are not tame, but who cares? I can surf the web for porn on my iPhone, but I’m not allowed to pay for a comic book that is far less scandalous? I read the issue already and I didn’t even notice the cocks until they were pointed out. You can see the ejaculating penises below as well as a statement from BKV himself.

UPDATE: Well, that was blown out of proportion by myself, BKV, and other news sites. Apparently, Apple did not ban the book, it was ComiXology, and it was never due to the depiction of gay sex explicitly. The book will be available in the App Store app soon.

Meet Curio, A Creepy, Crazy Game For iOS Devices

There’s no shortage of runner games on Apple’s mobile gaming platform, but Curio stands apart from the rest by being horror themed, and having a fucking weird trailer. The game came out last December, but a brand new update that went live yesterday added more than 50% more content to the game, including new items, Easter Eggs, and a tutorial. I could keep talking about it, but I think I’d rather let Tommy Wiseau (writer, director and star of The Room) give you an idea of what you can expect from it in the trailer below.

You can grab Curio on the iTunes App store for a cool .99 cents. Head past the break for some more info about the game and what its first update has added to it. READ MORE

Help Ash Defend Lord Arthur’s Castle In ‘Army Of Darkness: Defense’

Of course, this is announced the day AFTER I buy an Android…

Backflip Studios, in partnership with MGM Studios, is proud to announce that its highly anticipated homage to Sam Raimi’s Army Of Darkness is now live on the Apple App Store with Army of Darkness: Defense, a mobile castle defense game based on the 1992 classic film Army of Darkness.

Defense takes place during the pivotal castle scene within the movie where Ash and his allies defend the powerful Necronomicon within Lord Arthur’s fortress from the onslaught of Deadites. Gamers take on the role of the chiseled chin, one-liner-spouting Ash while summoning familiar troops, spells and weapons from the movie to help in the defense. Gameplay features include over 150 direct lines of dialogue from Bruce Campbell (!) as Ash Williams, and beautifully animated graphics using the well-known “Granny 3D” engine. In the game, Ash has the ability to call upon a wide variety of allies to help preserve the Necronomicon including swordsman, armored knights, archers and more. In addition to the originally composed sound and music, the app also features many of the famous characters from the movie including Arthur, Henry, Sheila, the Wiseman, Evil Ash, and more.

You can purchase the iPhone/iPod Touch version for $0.99 here and the iPad version for $2.99 here. I’m not sure if there’s a difference between tower and castle defense games (other than the exact location you’re stationed), but if it’s anything like Plants Vs. Zombies, I’ll be praying for a port.

Check past the break for screenshots.
