‘Into The Dead’ Surpasses 10 Million Downloads, Head Asplode

If you haven’t played Into The Dead on one of your many magical mobile devices, now is the time. Suit up. If you don’t know anything about it let me quickly bring you up to speed. Remember playing snake on those old indestructible Nokia phones? Think of it like a much better and more grown up version super kick ass version of that. Basically you are running through hordes of zombies dodging them at all costs. The further you go the more points you get. You also unlock sweet items and weapons to help you tear through the hordes. PikPok Games just announced that this past April they surpassed 10 million downloads for the game on Android and iOS devices. Yes, this is a thing. Hipster Zombies, everyone’s worst nightmare. They’re not only after your brains, but also after vintage clothes. The game was previously only available on Android, but you hipsters and your iPhones can kill yourselves all day FOR FREE. Sharkbomb Studios (Best name for a company ever?) is behind the game. “When living itself becomes to mainstream, what else is there to do?”, said Joachim Eckert, Technical Director of Sharkbomb Studios while packing his pipe. I think it’s a little cheap naming a game World Of The Living Dead, when it turns out to be not at all what you think it’s going to be. I was expecting a zombie game in the vein of the Living Dead series, but it turns out to be an in browser Dungeons and Dragons type game. I posted about this game almost a year ago, and that’s when you could sign up for the beta. So if you did and forgot, well, SURPRISE!

Developed by NetherRealm Studios the masterminds behind Mortal Kombat; In Lockdown as Batman you spend time wrangling back up the escaped convicts and iconic villains. The difference between the Batman games you’re used to is that you’ll be engaging in Mortal Kombat style one on one fights.

I don’t own any iOS devices that could play The Dark Meadow, and I’m starting to wish I did. Being developed by Phosphor Games (Chicago, hell yeah!) and running on The Unreal 3 Engine, the game so far looks awesome. Check out the teaser trailer below. You wouldn’t know it was a mobile game by the gorgeous look of the video.

I almost glanced over The Dark Meadow as I was perusing through some video game stuffs, but I’m glad I stopped. The Dark Meadow is an iOS game that runs on the Unreal 3 game engine. “From the start, our vision for The Dark Meadow was to create a top-tier console gaming experience that works on iOS devices from 3GS to iPad 2,” said Chip Sineni, Director of Phosphor Games Studios. “From the real-time cinematics and in-depth storyline, to the gesture-based ranged and melee combat systems, our goal is to integrate the best of hardcore console gaming with the intuitive ease of the casual mobile world.”

I’m not really sure how I missed it, (maybe because it has the potential to be terrible) but the Scre4m game was released May 31st on the iOS devices. In Scre4m you play as the killer hunting down your unsuspecting victims.

Army Of Darkness: Defense was recently released on those damned iOS devices, and so far the game is doing very well. It’s nearing 2000 customer ratings and still maintaining a 5 star rating. I only wish they would release it on Android, PSN, or XBLA so I could play it!

Most of us would kill, and I mean murder someone in cold blood to see Nex Gen Army Of Darkness or Evil Dead game. Well for now you only get Army Of Darkness: Defense for the iDevices. The game drops you right into Lord Arthur’s castle where Ash must defend the Necronomicon.

I thought this was HILARIOUS, so I thought I would share it with our beloved fans. Shave Me! is a ridiculous app you can get for most newer mobile phones. Basically the screen is a harry patch of skin and it’s up to you to shave it. With razors, electrics, use shaving cream. You can even cut to deep and make the skin bleed, then you have to put toilet paper squares on the skin and after shave.

It was only a matter of time, but it would seem that zombies have taken over the entire world. World of the Living Dead will be an in browser playable zombie survival game. In the game you play as operatives of the National Emergency Control and Relief Agency (NECRA), and you will have to guide survivors through the zombie infested streets of Los Angeles County.

Real life elements will come into play, eating, drinking, fighting for supplies. There will also be skill trees for characters, real world weapons, and once someone dies, they aren’t coming back. Get ready for an onslaught of Halloween geared games coming at you from every which way and gunning for your flesh. 1st off is Zombie Racers for your Apple devices. iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, etc. The game is pretty simple, you drive around splattering zombies, and killing them with fun weapons attached to your car. You can play online with a friend, which honestly looks like it will be really fun, it’s a shame I only own a 4 year old iPod. Oh, and the game soundtrack is done by a punk band. It doesn’t really sound like the game can get any better.

Undead: The Last Refuge is a 1st person zombie shooter for the iPhone. From the video below it looks to be a stand off type game where you are sheltered and stuck fighting waves of zombies as they close in on your location. There really isn’t much story to the game besides that the apocalypse is happening and zombies are coming to eat your god damn brains.
