All Stars 2013 Tour Line-Up Announced

The ‘All Stars 2013′ tour line-up is taking shape and will be heading out this summer for a full schedule. While no dates have yet been officially announced, the vast majority of acts have been released, beginning with Every Time I Die, who will be the tour headliner. The tour will also feature Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya, Terror, Stray From The Path, Capture The Crown, IwrestledABearOnce, For All Those Sleeping, and DayShell. Structures, Volumes, and other bands who will be announced in the coming weeks will also be performing in select markets.

Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley states, “We’ve always put a lot of effort into making this band work and when we perform we do so at the highest level of intensity, so to finally be deemed an ‘AllStar’ is a dream come true. I plan on relaxing in a hot tub with Wade Boggs or smoking huge cigars with Ronnie Harmon talking about our visits to Hollywood. Those are just some casual things us AllStars do when we’re not giving 110%. But that’s rare. This tour has a solid line-up and we’re excited to be a part of it. See you all this summer.READ MORE

Surrounded By Monsters Unveil ‘Novella’ Artwork

The band explains the album cover, saying, “The concept of the album art was derived from three song titles on the album, “You Dirty Rat”, “Ask Mr. Owl” and “Sending The Wolf”. The art features 3 animalistic characters that symbolize the different themes or emotions of each of the three songs and ultimately the album.” READ MORE

Iwrestledabearonce Comment On Fill-In Vocalist

If you’ve been checking out Iwrestledabearonce on the Ernie Ball stage at this year’s Warped Tour, you might have noticed something was a little bit off. What’s wrong is that vocalist Krysta Cameron is not performing with the group. Rather, fill-in vocalist Courtney LaPlante has taken the reins for the rest of the tour. The reason why? Well, let’s just say that Krysta is now eating for two.

From Being Bullied To Fronting A Metal Band, This 16-Year Old Girl Rocks

mtvmade From Being Bullied To Fronting A Metal Band, This 16 Year Old Girl Rocks
So being that I haven’t had cable or basic TV channels for about 17, almost 18 years, I had never heard of MTV’s Made, a show which takes people who have a dream, supplies them with a ” made coach”, and helps them achieve their dream.
In an episode that aired on Monday night, 16-year old Julia aspires to become a metal singer in an effort to attain a sense of self-confidence that has been destroyed by constant bullying, both in school and on the Internet. Her coach was The Agonist‘s vocalist Alissa White-Gluz, and cameos from Iwrestledabearonce and Winds Of Plague can also be seen. You can watch the entire episode below as well as read a response from myself.

Iwrestledabearonce Premiering ‘A Beary Scary Movie”

Century Media Records artist Iwrestledabearonce has announced that their film, A Beary Scary Movie, will be premiering at Rock And Shock in Worcester, MA on Oct. 16th. The film stars all of the members of IWABO as well as a guest appearance by Jake Busey. The story revolves around an insane, bloodthirsty fiend named Shreddy who attacks each of the members while they sleep. While this sounds EXACTLY like A Nightmare On Elm Street, I have a feeling that it’s going to be much more humorous and utterly insane. So, basically, I’m expected an homage, not a ripoff. What do you think?

Check after the jump for all sorts of details about Rock And Shock as well as ‘A Beary Scary Movie’.

Album Review: Iwrestledabearonce ‘Ruining It For Everybody’

Iwrestledabearonce are not famous for playing by the rules. Nor are they particularly known for their sweetness, calming music, or commonplace sense of humor. And that’s exactly what’s so great about ‘em. And with their second studio album, Ruining It For Everybody, IWABO certainly don’t disappoint anyone who still holds them to those deliciously devilish and high standards – but they’re not about to let you get away without a few surprises, either.

Iwrestledabearonce Are Now A Black Metal Band

Update: The band has released a new song entitled Karate Nipples. You can check it out here

Well, talk about making a life change. Century Media Records band Iwrestledabearonce have announced that they are now a black metal band. Curiouser and curiouser. I’ll let IWABO tell you all about it…

“We were sick of getting lumped in with ‘scene’ and ‘whatever-core’ bands, so we decided to embrace our roots and just go straight black metal on the new album,” says guitarist Steven Bradley. “I’d say 90% of the new record is straight-up black metal, so we had to change our image to match…Because of course that’s just as important, if not more so, than the music.”

Original: Top 5 Rock N Roll Front Women (Past And Present)

It’s probably totally sexist to dedicate an entire article to the celebration of a handful of vocalists that are simply going to make this list because they are female. After all, the argument has been made to me endless times that it shouldn’t be about a person’s gender when you judge their music or skill. It should just be about being a damn good vocalist. But let’s be real here, people still find the presence of a woman, especially in a band, as some what of a novelty. The music world is male dominated, and even I will admit, I have a bias when it comes to the expectations I have for female fronted bands. And that’s exactly why these girls rock so much. All of them are talented as hell, and I’m proud to share a set of -ahem- parts with them. Sexism sucks – but these girls don’t. Here are my top 5 female rock vocalists, both historic and modern.
