New Set Pics From ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Mo-Cap In The Woods

We’ve got our first behind the scenes look at Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to Twentieth Century Fox’s 2011′s hit franchise reboot Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Matt Reeves is currently directing the sequel, which has already enlisted Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, and Gary Oldman playing some human characters with Judy Greer and Andy Serkis (and many others) playing the chimps. These photos from the Daily Mail cropped up after a shoot in the woods that presumably features both humans and chimps, since Russell and Clarke look normal and Serkis is wearing the mo-cap dots.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, in theaters May 23, 2014, continues the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar (Andy Serkis) presides over the fall of human civilization. After the apes break out of their facility, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society. The new project is taking the story to the next level, with the apes on the path to emerge as society’s new rulers.
