Ex-Metallica Bassist Jason Newsted Announces Details For Debut Full-Length Album
Ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted has been hard at work with his new band Newsted. He released the Metal EP at the beginning of this year and it has been announced that Newsted will be on this year’s Gigantour alongside Megadeth, Black Label Society, Device, Hellyeah, and Death Division, which kicks off July 5th (tour dates below). Now it has been announced that the group’s debut full-length album Heavy Metal Music will be released August 6th. Below is the album cover, track list, and a stream of the first single “Heroic Dose”.
Newsted features Jason Newsted on bass and vocals as well as Staind guitarist Mike Mushok alongside guitarist Jessie Farnsworth and drummer Jesus Mendez Jr.
Commenting on Gigantour, Newsted states, “There is a chance that Mustaine and I will bust out some old Metallica that he was a part of. It has been talked about. I’m willing to throw down Phantom Lord – actually, whatever he calls out, I’m gonna throw down.” READ MORE
