The film will revolve around the banding together of an anti-establishment group of comic book creators, led by a reluctant William M. Gaines, as they produce their controversial yet hugely popular line of comic books like “Tale From the Crypt,” which later led Gaines to face Senate subcommittee hearings over accusations of perpetuating juvenile delinquency.
The official television soundtrack for Metal Hurlant Chronicles, which is composed by Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed, Borderlands, Hitman), will be released digitally on February 25th via Sumthing Else Music Works. The show is currently airing in 22 countries throughout Europe and stars Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner), James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis), Michael Jai White (Spawn), Darren Shahlavi (Arrow), Scott Adkins (Zero Dark Thirty), and Kelly Brook (Smallville).
Kyd states, “I really enjoy working on multiple genres and Métal Hurlant provides a unique creative opportunity to score every episode with its own sound. Since each story takes place in a different time (future/past) and on different worlds, the music style is always different from episode to episode. The element that ties them together is the science-fiction/fantasy genre which is present in all the episodes.”
Metal Hurlant is based off the wildly popular magazine ‘Heavy Metal’, which saw two animated films (one in 1981 and one in 2000). READ MORE
All right, so I might be a little late with this news, but it would seem my new favorite video game composer Jesper Kyd is working on the score for one of the more intriguing upcoming zombie games, Undead Labs’ State of Decay. Kyd’s music has been heard in the Hitman and Assassin’s Creed series, but arguably some of his best work can be found in Darksiders II, released earlier this month. I’ve had that game’s soundtrack on repeat for the last week, and it looks like I’ll be doing the same for State of Decay. While we’re on the subject, what’s your favorite video game soundtrack or composer?
Gearbox Software and 2k Games have announced that Jesper Kyd, Cris Velasco, and Sascha Dikiciyan have teamed up to compose the upcoming sci-fi/western/action game Borderlands 2. The game will be coming out September 18th for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. You can watch a trailer for the game below.
Jesper Kyd is an award-winning composer for video games, films, and TV. He is well known for his work in the Assassin’s Creed and Hitman franchises.
Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan have worked together many times, scoring for such games as Hellgate: London, Prototype, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, and Warhammer 40k: Space Marine. READ MORE
So, this might be more of a video game story but dammit it’s about the music! BAFTA award winning composer Jesper Kyd, who has composed music for Assassin’s Creed, Hitman, Borderlands, and much more, has released several samples for the upcoming horror-tinged adventure game Darksiders II. I’ve listened to a few of the tracks and they’re beautifully done. Very atmospheric with some hauntingly gorgeous melodies, I highly recommend streaming some of them below. READ MORE
