Considering how well “American Horror Story: Asylum,” is performing, and how enthusiastic the response has been from fans, it should come as no surprise that it’s been renewed for a third season. It should also come as no surprise that Jessica Lange will be back. In fact, I’d imagine that at least a few members of the ensemble will be returning seeing as many of them bridged the gap from Season 1 to “Asylum” already. Production of the untitled new cycle of AHS will begin next summer and premiere in the fall of 2013.

The first season of “American Horror Story” earned 17 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, tying for the most of any program this year and setting a record for the most Emmy nominations for a miniseries in basic cable history. Do you think the current season has a similar shot at glory?

Now here’s where we begin the guessing game. Where do you think the next season will take place? What location and time period? Who else should return? Since it will be an all-new plot again, what do you think the new season should be called? “American Horror Story: ???”

FX concluded their “American Horror Story: Asylum“ “Anne Frank” two-parter this evening and will move on to more Bloody Face next week!

We’ve just now added the promo for Episode 2×06 “The Origins of Monstrosity”, which will air November 21st. I really need to catch up with this season. It’s beginning to look pretty nuts in a good way.

In the episode, “An enigmatic little girl is forsaken at the asylum. The Monsignor makes a Faustian deal with Dr. Arden. The genesis of Bloody Face is disclosed.[15] ” Written by Ryan Murphy; directed by David Semel.

“American Horror Story: Asylum,” aired its second episode of the season, “Tricks And Treats”, tonight. In the episode, ““The staff summon an exorcist to deal with a possessed farm boy, while Sister Jude’s dark past is revealed.” The new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964 and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell. Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Clea Duvall, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, and Adam Levine round out the cast.

If you’ve already watched the first episode and are primed for the second, I think it’s safe to watch the brief behind the scenes clip – entitled “The Opening” – that we’ve included below the jump. And if you’ve already seen the second episode, it’s safe to watch the promo for Episode 3 – “Nor’easter” (airing October 31st at 10:00 pm e/p): “A violent storm hits Briarcliff, allowing a group of patients to plan a daring escape. This new, reimagined version of the classic 1960’s comedy “The Munsters” is based on executive producer Bryan Fuller’s (“Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) script and was directed by executive producer Bryan Singer (“X-Men” film series, “House”).

I’m a little late to the party… my excuse is that I was abducted. Yeah, that’s it!

Wednesday night FX premiered “American Horror Story: Asylum”, their second season of “American Horror Story” that’s set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964. The upcoming season revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell.

Episode 02.01, “Welcome to Briarcliff”, takes the viewer inside Briarcliff Manor, a notorious insane asylum home to the deranged serial killer, Bloody Face. Lurking in the shadows of this “sanctuary of healing” are terrifying evils that blur the boundaries between reality and insanity.

Much like I did with the season premiere of “The Walking Dead,” I wanted to take a few minutes to highlight everything Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk did right with the premiere. Unlike “Walking Dead,” the only way “American Horror Story” can go is down. Major spoilers follow. READ MORE

“American Horror Story: Asylum,” premiered tonight and I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet! Still, there’s a promo available for next week’s episode – “Tricks And Treats” – and it looks pretty cool. Things seem a little more intense than they did last year, and this teaser actually has me a little bit curious about catching up to tonight’s episode just so I can see what the hell is going on.

The new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964 and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell. Clea Duvall, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, The Voice’s Adam Levine, Mark Consuelos and newcomer Lizzie Brochere round out the cast. Other returning cast members set to play new roles include Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe.

It’s been an absolutely insane post-holiday news explosion, so we’re rounding up some fresh TV stories in this edition of News Bites.

Showtime has released a 4-minute long featurette that goes behind-the-scenes of “Dexter” Season 7, which premieres September 30. Here’s the synopsis for Episode 7.01: “Are You….?” “After witnessing her brother kill Travis Marshall, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) attempts to reconcile with Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. Meanwhile, Detective Mike Anderson has an unfortunate run-in, Quinn and Batista begin to make amends, and LaGuerta finds evidence that causes her to re-think the closed Bay Harbor Butcher case.”

The team behind AMC released a Social Network-style one-sheet for “The Walking Dead that celebrates their 10 million fans. In Season 3, premiering October 24, “Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company will face a brand new threat – one that is very much human. While Rick and the gang are busy clearing out a prison in the hopes of transforming it into a protective fortress, not so far away is the town of Woodbury, Georgia, and its self-appointed leader, the Governor (David Morrissey).”

EW got their hands on 10 stills featuring the primary cast in character and, for my money, it looks more interesting that Season 1. Also – it’ll feature Aliens?
