Rockstar Mayhem Energy Festival 2013 Lineup Announced And It’s AWESOME

The sixth annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival lineup has been unveiled and I’m already beginning to lose my mind! The festival will be headlined by shock rocker/horror director Rob Zombie along with Five Finger Death Punch and will also see performances from Children Of Bodom, Machine Head, Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, and many more.

Personally I’m very excited to see Rob Zombie again as well as get a first chance to see Behemoth, Amon Amarth, and Battlecross.

Tickets for the festival go on sale this Friday at 12pm local time. The full 26-date trek and lineup can be seen below.

Also below is a FFDP tour reel that features new music from the band’s upcoming summer release. The video features samples of the band’s new song “Here To Die”. READ MORE

Job For A Cowboy To Headline European ‘Bonecrusher Fest 2013′ Tour

Metal Blades Records artist Job For A Cowboy will be headlining the Bonecrusher Fest 2013 tour, which will go throughout Europe in March. Support will come from Beneath The Massacre, War From A Harlots Mouth, Gorod, As They Burn, and Make Them Suffer. The full tour schedule can be seen below.

The band commented, “We are all excited to announce that we will be heading back over to Europe this spring to participate in the Bonecrusher Festival. After some long and hard contemplation (uhh huh huh huh), we decided it would be best to get back over to the lands of beer and honey to throw down with our friends in Beneath the Massacre and cruise around with some other cool bands and try and have a good time. It will be our first time headlining a proper tour overseas in just about 2 years, and we are ready to play some tunes, drink some brews and crush some snacks. Come get your bone crushed with a bunch of bearded dudes on high protein diets playing music way too fast!

[Exclusive] NSFW Video Premiere For Job For A Cowboy’s “Tarnished Gluttony”

Bloody-Disgusting has teamed up with Metal Blade Records artist Job For A Cowboy to bring you an amazing, intense music video for their song “Tarnished Gluttony”, which comes off their latest album Demonocracy. Directed by Michael Panduro (the man behind the fantastic Cephalic CarnageOhrwurm” video), the video is deceptively subtle, almost poetic. Suddenly, everything changes in one horrific moment. Featuring strong Lovecraft-ian elements, this music video is definitely NSFW, so take heed and be careful where you watch it.

Between The Buried And Me Discuss New Album

Metal Blade Records artist Between The Buried And Me will be releasing The Parallax II: Full Sequence, their seventh full-length studio album, on October 9th. Jamie King, friend of the band and producer, engineered, mixed, and mastered the album while Chandler Owen has taken care of the artwork.

The album is a continuation of the story of their 2011 EP, The Parallax: Hypersleep. Guitarist Paul Waggoner further explains, “The two main characters of the story take on a journey through space and time with the unenviable task of having to cure the flaws of humanity by any means necessary. While the EP served mostly as an introduction to the characters, Future Sequence contains the action of the story. The lyrics are written in the stream of consciousness style, which really helps to capture the perspective and emotion of the characters. We really enjoyed the challenge of writing this record, and I think we were all pleasantly surprised with how well the music and lyrics jived with one another. I couldn’t be happier with how Future Sequence turned out.”

Job For A Cowboy Bassist To Miss Several Summer Slaughter Dates

Nick Schendzielos, bassist of Job For A Cowboy, will be forced to sit out the first few weeks of the Summer Slaughter Tour due to his girlfriend being involved in a head-on collision on her scooter. Mike “Gunface” McKenzie from The Red Chord will be taking his place during that time. All tour dates for the festival, which is headlined by Cannibal Corpse and features bands such as Periphery, Between The Buried and Me, The Faceless, and more, can be seen below.

Comments Schendzielos: “Hey friends: On June 28, immediately after landing in Boston to rehearse for Puerto Rico/Summer Slaughter, my girlfriend was in a head-on collision on her scooter. She sustained very serious head and bodily injuries. I flew right home, and we’ve been in the ICU for a week and are still in the hospital to make sure everything is okay. She needs 24/7 supervision for at least two weeks once we get out of here, so I’m very grateful to announce that Gunface from The Red Chord is going to help me out filling in on Summer Slaughter until I can meet back up with it. We love the dude very much and it’s going to be really cool for both JFAC and TRC fans to see. Enormous thanks for understanding this difficult situation and I’ll be back as soon as possible!”

Adds McKenzie: “I’m excited to be playing with JFAC on this tour. Great dudes in this band as well as in the bands on Summer Slaughter. Playing bass is a little different for me but definitely an interesting challenge. I’m definitely looking forward to getting out on the road again. Nick’s bass work is incredible and I’m working hard to get all of his parts down. Sending positive vibes out to him and his lady.”

My best wishes go out to Schendzielos’ girlfriend on a speedy recovery. READ MORE

Metal Blade Signs Deal With Fleshwrought

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the addition of experimental death metal band Fleshwrought to its family. Fleshwrought features Navene Koperweis (former drummer of Bay area grind band Animosity, currently in Animals As Leaders) and Jonny Davy (vocalist of Arizona’s Job for a Cowboy); Navene performing all instruments on the band’s debut album Dementia/Dyslexia with Jonny Davy handling lyrics and vocals.
“I’m truly amazed that a small project I started in my bedroom at my mom’s house has become something worthy of a Metal Blade release. What more could I ask for? I couldn’t be more proud and honored!” Navene Koperweis
“This record has been complete for an extremely long time. Navene and myself are extremely pumped to finally have the beast released.” Jonny Davy
Dementia/Dyslexia was finished by June 2009 and was recorded at Navene’s studio, Death Midi Soundlab, in San Francisco. Navene played all of the instruments, did all the tracking, mixing, and editing, with mastering handled by Dustin Miller at Audio Aggregate Recordings in Des Moines Iowa. In terms of what Fleshwrought hopes people will take away from listening to Dementia/Dyslexia, Navene personally hopes it is inspiration and a connection with the music, much in the way he has felt about those who have inspired him through his journey as a musician and lover of music.

Forced to miss its European tour with Rotten Sound and Aborted due to the effects of the recent volcano in Iceland, The Red Chord has lined up an amazing weekend’s worth of shows for fans on the East Coast.
Saturday, April 24, The Red Chord will play the main stage at the New England Metal and Hardcore Fest in Worcester, MA, alongside Cannibal Corpse, Amon Amarth, and Job For A Cowboy. Whitechapel Releases First Single Off New Album

Knoxville, Tennessee’s Whitechapel have just released the new track ‘The Darkest Day of Man,’ off of the bands 3rd full-length release (second for Metal Blade), A New Era of Corruption due out June 8th. “The first single we have released from the new album A New Era of Corruption is titled ‘The Darkest Day of Man’ (which can be heard HERE). We played it live during our overseas touring at the beginning of this year in Australia and the UK and were getting a great response from the crowd for it. I feel this song perfectly demonstrates how we have progressed as a band musically and in our song writing, but have not stepped away from our signature Whitechapel sound,” comments guitarist and founding member Alex Wade.
