Joey Jordison, drummer of Slipknot, has announced the formation of a new band entitled Scar The Martyr. The band is signed to Roadrunner Records and will release their as-yet-untitled debut album this fall. Produced by Rhys Fulbar (Front Line Assembly, Fear Factory), the album will feature vocalist Henry Derek, keyboardist Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails, American McGee’s Alice), and guitarists Jed Simon (Strapping Young Lad) and Kris Norris (Darkest Hour). Jordison played drums and bass on all songs as well as rhythm guitar on all but two tracks. Simon and Norris handled lead guitars for the full album. The musical style of the album will blend rock with “…post-punk and industrial.”
“With this project, I focused my efforts on writing for the better of the song,” says Jordison. “I wasn’t worried about flash or persona… It’s all about writing a good solid song. I’m writing music that people can grasp and hold on to…something that resonates. If you don’t have that, then you have nothing.” READ MORE

Marilyn Manson posted on his Facebook a short video entitled “I Am Among No One (excerpt from an undisclosed song with an unreleased title)”. It’s a bit of a mouthful, eh? Joey Jordison had to leave the band due to scheduling conflicts with Slipknot, who will be doing some festival tour dates this summer. Who else saw this coming a mile away? Anyways, check after the jump for a video of the new line-up rocking out the ever awesome ‘Superbeast’.
