Sanctuary (Lionsgate)
In 1693, the settlers on the small Maine island of Sanctuary were betrayed to their enemies and slaughtered. Since then, the island has known three hundred years of peace.
Until now.
Four men are descending on Sanctuary, their purpose to hunt down and kill the wife of their leader and retrieve the money that she stole from him. All that stands in their way are a young rookie officer, Sharon Macy, and the island’s strange, troubled policeman, the giant known as Melancholy Joe Dupree.
But Joe Dupree is no ordinary policeman. He is the guardian of the island’s secrets, the repository of its memories. He knows that Sanctuary has been steeped in blood once; it will tolerate the shedding of innocent blood no longer. Now a band of killers is set to desecrate Sanctuary and unleash the fury of its ghosts upon themselves and all who stand by them.
On Sanctuary, all hell is about to break loose…
Villain

Breaking the Girl
Official: Breaking The Girl is a contemporary thriller akin to the film noir classic Strangers on a Train. When university student Sara (Bruckner) is slandered by a hostile classmate, she is befriended by the manipulative Alex (Zima) who proposes the perfect, untraceable crime – to kill each other’s arch enemies. When Alex actually goes through with it, Sara finds herself being framed for murder.
Alternate: Directed by Jamie Babbit, Brit Marling and Madeline Zima have landed the lead roles of Alex and Sara, a duo that commiserate over their enemies. Alex suggests that they should kill off each other’s nemeses, Sara shrugs it off as a morbid joke until someone turns up dead.
Four New ‘Dark Tide’ Clips Wash Ashore, Continue To Disappoint

We’ve got four more clips from Wrekin Hill Entertainment and Lionsgate’s Dark Tide, their shark thriller from Turistas director John Stockwell. These clips aren’t the worst thing ever, but they’re not great. Sadly, the whole thing reeks of my biggest pet peeve, laziness.
The flick leads off with a three-week Ultra VOD window on March 8th with a theatrical release on March 30th, culminating in a packaged media and Digital Download release, the Halle Berry thriller will head to home video on April 8.
“Kate (Halle Berry), shark naturalist and documentarian, has been reluctant to re-enter the water since the tragic death of her mentor. Once renowned for swimming with Great White Sharks without the protection of a cage, Kate now spends her days giving mundane wildlife tours. However, the surprise arrival of her old partner and boyfriend, Jeff (Olivier Martinez), convinces her to face her inner demons and get back in the water with the fiercest of predators.”
Dark Tide also stars Ralph Brown, Adi Shankar, Luke Stein, Mark Elderkin, Thoko Ntshinga and Sizwe Msutu.
