‘Buffy’ Creator Pens Supernatural Comedy ‘In Your Eyes’

Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Avengers) and Kai Cole’s micro-studio Bellwether Pictures has set a follow-up, a supernatural romance entitled In Your Eyes, reports Deadline. Whedon wrote the script and Brin Hill will direct.

‘In Your Eyes’ is a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.

While pegged as supernatural, the script is said to be a comedy that reads like a drama with romantic overtones. READ MORE

OMFG Of The Day: Joss Whedon’s Ninth ‘Season’ Of ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer’ Begins!

The Eighth ‘season’ of Joss Whedon’s “BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER” was for all intents and purposes, BETTER than the final season of the cult classic TV series, which saw its run on The CW come to an end after 7 years with the network. Some would call the series “Another Generation’s Twilight”, but I have Colt .45 for that, and a proper distaste for its fans. Figuratively, of course. But I digress. The point is that the “AVENGERS” director himself will be getting back to his roots with Dark Horse Comics, and inside we have your first look at the title’s first issue. Read on for the skinny…

“Season 8 ended with a bang when Buffy cut the world off from the hell dimensions and all supernatural influence. Great, right? Except Buffy has left her best friend, Willow, powerless, and ended the long line of vampire slayers, leaving her hated by the hundreds of girls who recently stood behind her. Newly relocated to San Francisco, Buffy can count on a fresh start, and focus on what she’s good at—slaying.”

Break Out The Champagne: Lionsgate Set To Distribute ‘Cabin In The Woods’ – Release Date!

Update: The Facebook page says we’ll finally see this on OCTOBER 28!

Almost two years after its original release date, Lionsgate has stepped up as the distributor of The Cabin In The Woods after MGM’s financial woes kept it from being released. No official release date has been set, but I’ll take a shot in the dark and guess October for now.

While I’m excited knowing that I’ll get to see the film a lot sooner than I thought, I’m a bit conflicted about how it’s going to be received. It definitely has geek allure – with Joss Whedon gaining more buzz than usual from his Avengers directing gig and Chris Hemsworth blowing up more and more by the day for starring role in Thor – but in a post-Scream 4 world, how well is a R-rated self-aware horror-comedy going to do?

Did Joss Whedon Pass on ‘Buffy’ Reboot?

The Internet exploded in anger Thursday at news that Warner Bros., Atlas Entertainment and Vertigo Entertainment are planning a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer film without Joss Whedon, maestro of the 1992 film and 1997-2003 TV series. Heat Vision reports that while Whedon himself fanned the flames, advising fans to “leave me to my pain” in a witty missive, they learned that Whedon was offered a chance to be involved with the new Buffy — and passed! According to studio insiders, he was approached last year after Buffy rightsholder Fran Rubel Kuzui and husband Kaz Kuzui began developing a remake with Vertigo. After presented with the opportunity, Whedon decided he’d rather work on other projects (he’s making Marvel Studios’ The Avengers). Actress-turned-scribe Whit Anderson is now penning the redo.
