A Badass Fall Tour Emerges: Judas Priest On The Road With Thin Lizzy And Black Label Society

Judas Priest have announced, in what is sure to make metalheads around the country lose their mind, that they will be hitting the road this fall with opening support coming from Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society. The tour will be part of the Epitaph touring cycle and comes after the departure of founding member, K.K. Downing, who has been replaced by Richie Faulkner. Check out the dates after the jump and let me know if you’re going to be at the Detroit show! My only concern is that the Detroit show is after the date for the impending apocalypse. Firewind Return With ‘Days Of Defiance’

The Greek metal phenomenon FIREWIND, led by the young guitar sensation Gus G. (Ozzy Osbourne), has returned with the scathing new effort Days of Defiance, which is easily their defining moment. The much anticipated disc is set for a fall release and it’s a truly ambitious and dynamic opus featuring some of the most brilliant guitar playing the genre has seen in many years. R.I.P. Paul Gray: Slipknot Bassist Dead At 38

Today is yet another sad day in music as Paul Gray, bassist of Slipknot, has been found dead in a hotel in Iowa. I saw this news on Blabbermouth.net, so I’ll just repost a bit of their article here. I will say though that although I didn’t enjoy the last few Slipknot records, their debut album was one of my favorite records for the first several years of the 2000 decade. I spun that record more times than I can count and I credit that album as one of the reasons I got into the more extreme genres of metal.
