Everyone and their mom (literally) knows about the infamous pig’s blood scene from Stephen King’s Carrie, which launches the teen into an unstoppable rage of violence and destruction. But to be frank, it’s kind of bumming me out that the pinnacle of this classic story is already being shared with us in a slew of images. The latest comes via Director Kimberly Peirce who shared a new look at Chloe Moretz as the title character from the titular moment. Moretz is literally covered in blood and flames are bursting all around her. What are we supposed to look forward to now? At least save the money shot for the trailer!

Judy Greer Says Pig’s Blood Scene In New ‘Carrie’ Will Look “Amazeballs…”

Kimberly Peirce is officially behind the camera for Carrie, the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s coming-of-age novella. The MGM/Screen Gems stars Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass, Let Me in), Julianne Moore (Hannibal), Alex Russell (Chronicle), Ansel Elgort, Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers), Judy Greer (The Descendants) and Portia Doubleday (Youth In Revolt).

Principal photography started last month Toronto, Ontario. While they haven’t actually shot the pig’s blood scene yet, Greer – who plays the compassionate Mrs. Desjardin – has seen some tests and says it won’t disappoint. “It’s amazeballs… Weirdly, it’s kind of beautiful,” she told E! “It’s really totally jarring and creepy but also in a strange way gorgeous.” She also had kind things to say about Moretz, “ Chloë’s performance — and this is literal — has brought me to tears on set. She’s made me cry because I find her performance to be incredibly moving. I’m feeling a lot of compassion for her.

First Behind The Scenes Footage From The ‘Carrie’ Remake!!

Principal photography started last month Toronto, Ontario and some behind the scenes footage was just released that shows Peirce directing Moretz as Carrie. The footage gives us look at the popular girls of the high school emerging from the locker room during swim class and Carrie’s reaction to (and confrontation with) them. If anything, it’s a tiny glimpse into the dynamic at play between our heroine and her tormentors (one of them asks her to “wipe that smile off your face.”) Thanks to FreddyKrueger13 for the heads up.

Gillian Jacobs

“Community” Star Gillian Jacobs Releases Ken Marino’s Inner Demon ‘Milo’

Back on June 19 we revealed exclusively that Black Rock editor Jacob Vaughan is getting behind the camera for the genre comedy Milo, a new horror thriller that will star Ken Marino (pictured below; Wanderlust, Role Models), Judy Greer (Carrie) and Peter Stormare (Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Mall).

THR adds today that Gillian Jacobs (pictured top), one of the stars of NBC’s “Community” and The Box, has also joined the growing cast. Jacobs will play Marino’s wife, and one of the stresses in his life.

Penned by Vaughan & Benjamin Hayes, the plot is incredibly interesting as it’s said to follow Duncan (played by Marino), an incredibly stressed man who is plagued with vicious stomach troubles. We’re told that Duncan actually has a demon living inside his intestines, a demon who wreaks havoc internally until Duncan, during a therapy session, gives it permission to come out. Highsmith (played by Stormare), Duncan’s shrink, explains that the demon is the personification of his anxiety. He’s advised to embrace his inner demon and thus names it Milo…

Shooting begins this July in Los Angeles. READ MORE

Chloe Moretz Looks Directly To Stephen King’s ‘Carrie’ For Inspiration

In the coming months young superstar Chloe Grace Moretz will transform into a psychic prom queen when she becomes the third person to channel the character Carrie, the title role in the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s coming-of-age novella.

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, the young starlette explains that she’s going to go under quite a transformation for the MGM reboot also starring Julianne Moore, Alex Russell, Ansel Elgort, Gabriella Wilde, Judy Greer and Portia Doubleday:

I am changing everything about me—my hair, my look. I’m doing my own take on [the character],” she explains on the difference between her role and De Palma’s 1976 Carrie. “The script is totally different from the [original]. It’s more like the book. It’s a more Black Swan version—it messes with your mind. You’ll see things, and you don’t know if you’ve seen them.

This time around, Moore will be playing her abrasive and psychotic mother. But Moretz feels they will still connect on set: “I don’t know if we are supposed to bond [because of our characters’ relationship], but I feel like we both will because we’re both cool.READ MORE

Scoop Confirmed: Judy Greer Cast In MGM’s ‘Carrie’ Reboot

Even though sources close to the production denied our exclusive casting report, we always trust our personal sources, one of which told us that Judy Greer (pictured below) had been cast as the gym teacher Miss Desjardin in MGM’s Carrie reboot. They were right. In addition, it’s also been reported that Portia Doubleday has been locked to play bad girl Chris Hargensen.

Nancy Allen played Hargensen in the original and Betty Buckley played the sympathetic gym teacher who comforts Carrie White when she menstruates and doesn’t understand what is happening because of the guilt hammered into her by her repressive mother. Hargensen triggers Carrie’s telekinetic powers with an atrocious prom prank, says Deadline.

They’ll all star alongside Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Alex Russell and Ansel Elgort, with Moretz taking the title role and Moore playing her psychotic mother.

The Village

In a quiet, isolated village in olde Pennsylvania, there lies a pact between the people of the village and the creatures who reside in the surrounding woods: the townspeople do not enter the woods, and the creatures do not enter the village. The pact stays true for many years, but when Lucius Hunt seeks medical supplies from the towns beyond the wood, the pact is challenged. Animal carcasses, devoid of fur, begin to appear around the village, causing the council of elders to fear for the safety of the village, the pact, and so much more.
