The ABCs of Death is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world’s leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. Kevin Riepl Announced As Composer For ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’
It has been announced that Kevin Riepl (Gears Of War, The Aggression Scale, Aliens: Colonial Marines) will be composing Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, the prequel to the 2002 Eli Roth-directed film. The film has a 2014 release date.
Directed by Kaare Andrews, the film stars Sean Astin (Lord Of The Rings, The Goonies), Jillian Murray (The Graves), and Brando Eaton (Dexter, American Horror Story: Asylum).

Naturally, The 26-director horror anthology The ABC’s Of Death is one of the Midnight Madness selections of the Toronto International Film Festival, and now we have a look at several new pics from the film.

[TIFF '12] Midnight Madness Films Announced! ‘The Lords Of Salem’, ‘The ABC’s Of Death’, ‘Hellbenders 3D’ And More!!!
Holy sh*t! There’s obviously a lot of horror in the Midnight Madness selections of the Toronto International Film Festival, but I’m not sure if you were expecting this many big fish! For starters, we’ve got Rob Zombie‘s The Lords Of Salem. Next? The 26 director anthology The ABC’s Of Death. Not enough? How about Nicolas Lopez‘s Eli Roth/Selena Gomez starrer Aftershock. Still hungry? Then there’s JT Petty‘s Hellbenders 3D.
TIFF’s Midnight Madness selections will present the major world premieres for those films, the first time any kind of general audience sees them. But that’s not all! Three Set To Cruise Into ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’
Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings, The Goonies, Encino Man), Brando Eaton (“Dexter,” “American Horror Story”) and Ben Hollingsworth will topline Indomina’s Cabin Fever: Patient Zero with Kaare Andrews directing, reports Variety.
Shooting will start August 13 in the Dominican Republic, where Indomina has part of its operations. It also plans to shoot Cabin Fever: Outbreak in the Dominican Republic.
Original Cabin Fever producer Evan Astrowsky and his Hypotenuse Pictures is producing Patient Zero with Indomina. Jake Wade Wall (The Hitcher, When a Stranger Calls) wrote the Patient Zero screenplay that “Centers on a bachelor party cruise in the Caribbean unexpectedly running ashore on a medical research island, a deadly virus is unleashed.”
Andrews is a writer and artist who worked on Marvel Comics’ “The Incredible Hulk,” “Ultimate X-Men” and “Spider-Man: Reign.” He made his feature directing debut with the supernatural horror movie Altitude and is in post on “V is for Vagitus” as part of the “ABC’s of Death” a horror anthology. ‘Altitude’ Director Captains ‘Cabin Fever: Patient Zero’ Ship
THR is reporting out of EFm that comic book artist-turned-director Kaare Andrews (Altitude ) is in final negotiations to direct Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, a prequel being made by U.S. and Dominican Republic-based producer, financier and distributor Indomina Group.
Patient Zero will tell the origin of the flesh-eating virus that was unleashed in the 2002 original, directed by Eli Roth. Jake Wade Wall, who wrote the remake of The Hitcher, penned the script that “follows the passengers of a cruise ship in the Caribbean that runs aground a research island. They must find a way to survive before the disease consumes them.”
The plan is to segue this film into a second sequel, Cabin Fever: Outbreak to be penned by Adam and Deborah Marcus. READ MORE
