Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D arrives on 3D/2D Blu-ray Disc (plus Digital Copy and Ultraviolet), DVD (plus Digital Copy and Ultraviolet), Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View on May 14th from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. In addition, there will be an early digital window on April 30th.

The slasher was directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star. It’s been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.”

“Texas Chainsaw 3D picks up decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre seen in Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In it, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. Leatherface has returned in a big way slashing his way to the top of the box office.

Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D has raked in a whopping estimated $23 million proving that horror is king and that fans still want to see the Sawyer family in action.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series is, like any other big horror franchise, riddled with its fair share of really bad entries. I don’t care what anyone says, TCM 3 and TCM: A New Beginning are awful. You can’t convince me otherwise. TCM 2 is charming and entertaining in its own way and while I’m not a huge fan of the remake it took the original concept and did its own thing, which I can admire.

But now we’ve entered Texas Chainsaw 3D, the first time a TCM movie has billed itself as a “direct sequel”, one that takes the story and events of the first film and expands upon the story. And what you end up with is a fun, if somewhat ridiculous, film that has some very interesting moments. READ MORE

Leatherface has returned to theaters, only now he’s in 3-D!

Evan Dickson survived the onslaught and had this to say about Lionsgate’s hotly anticipated Texas Chainsaw 3D:

“If “dumb fun” can still be considered harmless – because sometimes it feels like we’re fighting for the very survival of cinema and all that – then that’s exactly how I’d peg Texas Chainsaw 3D. It’s not what most people would call a “good movie”, I’m not sure I can even call it that. But I do know that it engaged me, entertained me and made me laugh more than at least 60% of the horror movies I saw last year.”

A new viral Texas Chainsaw 3D image hit the Facebook page has teased “Day of incident.” The caption reads: “The town of Newt, TX has blood on its hands. Who will make them come clean?” Take a look at the file inside.

In theaters January 4, the pic “Continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. New TV Spot For ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Boasts New Footage

We now have the first TV Spot for Texas Chainsaw 3D, which continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace.

It mostly does what TV spots do, which is to say it’s shorter than a trailer and only has a few new shots. Somehow though, I actually like this TV Spot more than I like the official trailer.

In theaters January 4, 2013, the slasher is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star. It’s been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.”

First Clip From ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Welcomes You To Texas Motherf*cker!!!

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s still, we’ve now got a clip from Texas Chainsaw 3D, which continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace.

The clip (via Machinima) expands upon the scene from which yesterday’s still, featuring Nikki (Tania Raymondei) and Ryan (Tremaine ‘Trey Songz’ Neverson), was pulled. There’s some chainsaw action and a Shane Black-esque one liner. Question. Why would someone welcome Leatherface to Texas? He’s already there, right? It kind of makes even less sense than your stewardess or pilot welcoming you to a city they arrived in at the same time as you.

The cast and crew of Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D, which has been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout,” talks to MTV in the following behind-the-scenes video.

It was almost NC-17 and has footage from Tobe Hooper’s 1974 original post converted to 3-D. Evan Saathoff dissected the trailer. We reported from the set. We even interviewed director John Luessenhop about the sequel!
