All That Remains fans can rejoice. The band is set to begin recording the follow up to 2008’s Overcome, their biggest-selling release to date. Pre-production begins this week at Zing Studios in Westfield, MA on the as-yet-untitled album. Returning to the producer’s chair is Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam D who previously helmed the band’s 2006 release The Fall Of Ideals as well as 2004’s This Darkened Heart.
Metal Blade Records has given As I Lay Dying’s fifth full length “The Powerless Rise” a May 11th release date. No word yet on tour dates in support of “The Powerless Rise” but I’m sure they will be announced super soon. I’m also super pleased to share the artwork which was done by Jacob Bannon of Converge, he’s also been responsible for all of their previous artwork since 2003′s “Frail Words Collapse”.

Phil Sgrosso, guitarist of As I lay Dying, has issued an update on behalf of himself and the rest of the band in regards to the new album, “The Powerless Rise”.
“We’ve been pretty busy the past few months. We´re about several last minute pickscrapes/thunderchugs away from finishing ALL tracking for The Powerless Rise. We´ve had Colin Richardson and his assistant Martyn “Ginge” Ford out in San Diego working on mixes every day for about a month so far.
It took a bit of time for us to get the guitar tone in the right place, but we’ve finally settled on something we all love and compliments the drums and bass quite nicely. Josh and Tim´s vocals are sounding great as well. Colin and Ginge are doing a killer job!” READ MORE

Killswitch Engage posted a message on their website that says “Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones is leaving the band’s current headlining tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquility due to unforeseen circumstances. All That Remains vocalist will be filling in for Jones for a few shows in the interim, until the KsE guys can determine what the plan will be for the remaining tour dates, which are currently scheduled to run through the end of March.”
After that the rumors started flying, first there was speculation that he had quit the band but as time went on it was more apparent that Jones is taking time out to deal with an injury or illness.
Phil Labonte who is stepping into Jones shoes for the meantime wrote this on Twitter, “Yep, I’m singing for KsE until HoJo gets better. Not sure how long it’ll be, but I’m here ’till they don’t need me anymore.” READ MORE
