Kittie Guitarist Covers Dexter Opening Theme

Kittie guitarist Tara McLeod has uploaded a video of herself covering the intro theme to Showtimes hit show Dexter (details about season seven here). It’s not too shabby of a cover, although it’s hard to pick up a lot of the nuances and subtleties of the theme with just a guitar. You can check it out below as well as her cover of Opeth‘s Patterns 1 & 2 In Ivy. Also, someone please buy me the Mikael Akerfeldt signature PRS guitar? Pretty please?  READ MORE

New Kittie Video Has Zombies, Elements Of Evil Dead And South Park

A few days ago, we posted a teaser video for the new Kittie We Are The Lamb video. Promising zombies, gore, violence and metal, it was enough to get my attention piqued. Today brings the release of that video and it was definitely worth the few days of anticipation! Full of elements from Evil Dead and South Park (I wonder if the worcestershire sauce had anything to do with it…), this video is cheeky and a great nod to horror fans. Check it out after the jump and let me know your thoughts!

Make sure to check out our exclusive interview with Kittie from last year where the Lander sisters discuss their love of horror!

My Latest Mix Issue 1

So, I’m gonna try a new article series for you readers where I post the track list of the latest mix CD that I made. I still don’t have an MP3 player aside from my Droid (never saw the use for one), so I still resort to making mixes for my car.

There are two things I hope to get from this:
1) I want a chance to show other styles of music that I listen to. I’m not ONLY a metalhead, y’know? I try to listen to all styles of music, from classical to jazz to metal to pop to electronica to traditional folk and everything in between. And this leads me to…
2) I hope that by doing this, many of you readers will find new artists to check out. What’s better than finding new music that you really enjoy? I love finding new artists to check out!
So, after the jump, you’ll find the track list of the latest mix CD I made (in the same order) along with a YouTube video (if there is one) for you to check out songs right away!
Make sure to leave a comment if you like or dislike this article idea. If you love this idea and are artistically inclined and want to create ‘My Latest Mix’ logo for following articles, send me a PM to my BD username: Phantasmagoria666. If your logo gets picked, you’ll definitely be credited!

New Evergreen Terrace Videos Up

The perpetually-hilarious members of Evergreen Terrace recently returned from touring in Australia with Casey Jones on the “Cheer Up Emu Kid” tour. In what has become an Evergreen Terrace tradition, a side-splitting tour wrap up video has been posted that highlights some of the more ridiculous moments of the tour. Among other things, they eat Kangaroo shit, almost get murdered and get their hands on some Horny Goat Weed – all that and more can be seen now on MetalBlade.tv HERE.
Evergreen Terrace played SXSW in Austin, TX earlier this year and guitarist Josh James hosted a segment for Metal Blade TV that showcased a phenomenon unique to metal and hardcore: moshing. In this video, Josh James interviews and does play-by-play for some moshers and Dennis from Alesana unveils his new mosh move, “The Care Bear”. Check it out HERE!
Evergreen Terrace will be spending part of their summer as part of this year’s Thrash And Burn Tour alongside Asking Alexandria, Kittie, Born Of Osiris, Impending Doom and more! The tour officially starts July 16 and Evergreen Terrace will join the tour from August 2nd through August 15th. The band’s latest album, Almost Home, is available everywhere now!

Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further states: “This is quite a surprise to announce GOD FORBID’s participation in the Five Finger Death Punch, Shadows Fall and 2 Cents tour. This was a tour we were looking at when it was first being put together, so the fact that we eventually landed it, even though it was a last minute thing, is a stroke of good fortune. We do wish our friends in Throwdown well, and hope whatever happened turns out ok in the end. Big thanks to FFDP for bringing us out! We have become good friends with them over the last couple years, and the fact that they are making this huge gesture is awesome. We go all the way back with our brothers in Shadows Fall to our first tour in 2000, so this will be another trip around the rodeo with some old friends. We’ve never toured with 2 Cents, but know Adair from Manttis and the other guys seem super cool. Combined with the spring tour with Lamb of God and the summer Mayhem Festival, this will be the most successful US touring cycle GF has ever had, so it’s a big reason to be positive in 2010! READ MORE
