The story centers on a small town that becomes infested with a species of killer bugs that come out at night. They burrow inside their victims’ bodies, killing people from the inside. It’s described as a realistic horror tale in the vein of “28 Days Later” and “The Hot Zone.”
Although the tour with Lamb of God and Dethklok has been cancelled, French metal band Gojira isn’t letting that hold them back as they venture out on their small headlining tour. The stops will include shows at the Heavy TO Festival in Toronto as well as the Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal. The band will also be performing on the second day of Slipknot‘s inaugural Knotfest in Minneapolis. Tour dates are below.

Earlier today, Slipknot posted a video on their Facebook entitled ‘Something Monsterous [sic] is Coming’. The video, which you can watch below, shows the band performing live in what appears to be the UK. There is no other information other than an ambiguous 2013 date and a website to check out.
So, this of course leads one to speculate as to what they might be teasing. The first thought is a new live DVD. The video is extremely polished with a ton of different camera angles and sweeping shots of the crowd. However, since there has not been a new album since the last live DVD, (sic)nesses, and the fact that there was a tribute to deceased bassist Paul Gray on it, a new live DVD seems pointless. After all, why buy a DVD that you pretty much already own?
The only reason I can think of a new live DVD would be to document their own music/amusement festival Knotfest. If it’s as exciting and packed full of events as they say it is, nobody will be able to attend everything. Therefore, a DVD showing what they missed and what the full experience was like makes complete sense.
The next idea is a new album. This is a tricky one as members of the band give very conflicting reports on whether or not the band will get together to record at any time this year. But the ambiguous 2013 date allows the band some leeway as they could spend the first several months of the year recording the album and then release it in the fall or early winter.

Lamb Of God has released a trailer for their upcoming documentary As The Palaces Burn. The documentary focuses on the impact that music, particularly heavy metal, has on people in places that deal with socio-economic woes, violence, and looming threats of war. Filming for this documentary took place in Columbia, Venezuela, Mexico, Israel, and India. US Footage will be shot over the summer during their tour with Dethklok and Gojira as well as their appearances at Knotfest (tour dates below).

Iowa metal group Slipknot have announced their foray into creating their own headlined musical festival with Knotfest. This year will see two day-long dates, one in their native state of Iowa and one in Somerset, along the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota. The festival will have musical appearances from Deftones, Dethklok, Lamb Of God, Prong, The Urge, Cannibal Corpse, Serj Tankian, and more. There will also be amusement rides, burlesque performances, circus big-top tents, and other carnival-esque treats. Tickets are set to go on sale this Friday.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Shawn “Clown” Crahan states, “It’s all about having fun and bringing something to the world of rock & roll, bringing it to the standard it used to be. It’s time for us to really engulf this idea known as Knotfest where we’re in control, we make a day devoted to our mindset, our ideas, the people that we want to play with, the people that we think our fans want to be around.”
Clown also told Rolling Stone that the festival will continue on in the upcoming years even if Slipknot has no plans to perform. READ MORE
