New Pic ‘The Possession’ Tackles Matisyahu To The Ground!!! Where Was It In 2006?!

Nope! I still haven’t seen The Possession. But pretty much everyone I know who has seen the Sam Raimi produced/Ole Bornedal directed picture has really dug it, so I’m totally cool plunking down my 12 bucks (wait – I live in LA – 19 bucks) when it hits theaters at the end of the month. Also cool is this pic from Ain’t It Cool news, which keeps with film’s marketing trend of showing awesome stuff without showing too much. It also shows Matisyahu being tackled to the ground, so naturally it appeals to me.

Based on a true story, ‘The Possession’ is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

New Pics From ‘The Possession’ Bring The Family Together

I’m still totally stoked to see The Possession. Most of my colleagues have had a chance to check it out and most of them really dug it. I could definitely uses a fix of Raimi-inspired chaos. That being said, these new pics from Entertainment Weekly don’t offer much that we haven’t seen in the film’s trailers. But that’s okay!!! We don’t need everything spoiled before release, do we? I’m kind of glad this movie seems to be keeping some of its bigger moments close to the vest.

First TV Spot For ‘The Possession’ Brings The Crazy At The End

I haven’t seen The Possession yet, but I hear it’s actually really good. A few of my more discerning friends have seen it and reported back with largely positive things to say. This first TV spot more or less plays like the trailer did, but it’s alway nice to see a little bit more footage. Especially now that I know that is actually Matisyahu. For real.

Given that it’s supposed to be more intense, crazy and fun than your standard “exorcism” movie, this super loud and creepy motion poster from Fandango kinda makes sense.
