AMC To Release ‘The Walking Dead (AMC Original Soundtrack – Vol. 1)’ And It Looks Terrible

Fans of The Walking Dead have been clamoring nonstop for an official soundtrack of Bear McCreary’s compositions. There are Facebook pages, petitions, and more, as fans make their voices heard. For the longest time AMC ignored these pleas and composer McCreary was left without an answer when fans turned to him asking, “When will a soundtrack be released?”

Well, AMC appears to have swayed and has unveiled a Mar. 19th release date for The Walking Dead (AMC Original Soundtrack – Vol. 1), which is now available for pre-order on iTunes (those who pre-order get an instant download of Jamie N Common‘s “Lead Me Home”). However, it is terrible. Consisting of eight tracks, there is not a single original piece of music on the soundtrack. There is McCreary’s main theme but it’s a remix by UNKLE. The rest of the soundtrack consists of licensed songs that are going to be used in the upcoming second half of season 3.

Maybe I’m a bit off, but if fans are clamoring left and right for Bear McCreary’s original compositions as a soundtrack, wouldn’t you release Bear McCreary’s original compositions as the soundtrack?!

Head on below for the track listing as well as a description of which song will appear in which episode. READ MORE

[TV] AMC Outdoes Itself With Blu-ray Set For “The Walking Dead” Season Three

While you’re tuned into AMC later this week watching the back half of The Walking Dead season three (premiering Sunday, February 10 at 9pm ET), you can start salivating over this DVD/Blu-ray box set many of you will eventually buy.

There’s a rundown of the box over at MTV and the whole thing seems pretty cool and very unique. It’s based on The Governor’s custom TV set-up and apparently even requires water. The whole thing was created in conjunction with Robert Kirkman, Todd McFarlane and AMC and features five decapitated zombie heads floating in water.

Kirkman says, “McFarlane has a very intimate relationship with AMC, so I was approving concepts on this Blu-Ray case before Season Three even aired. So while we were building things on set, Todd and the team at McFarlane Toys were coming in and scanning actors and scanning props. So having them come in and do the fish tank with the severed heads while we were still building it for the show is a pretty cool thing, and I think makes these products much more accurate and cooler for the fans.

There’s no release date for the set as of yet, but you can bet we’ll keep you posted. Head inside to check out some images! READ MORE

Death Race 2 (V)

Newly arrived at Terminal Island, a prison for the most unredeemable of convicts, Carl ‘Luke’ Lucas must prove his mettle in a race to the death.

Death Race 2
takes place in the very near future, as the United States economy begins to decline and violent crime starts to spiral out of control. To contain the growing criminal population, a vast network of for-profit, private prisons springs up, creating a lawless subculture ruled by gangs, cold-blooded killers and sociopaths. The worst of these prisons is Terminal Island, where inmates fight each other in a highly rated televised death match, where there are no rules, and the winner is the one who survives the gladiator-style, no-holds-barred competition. Convicted cop-killer Carl Lucas (Luke Goss) arrives on the Island to serve his life sentence just as ruthlessly ambitious television personality September Jones evolves the death match into the ultimate reality show – Death Race. A brutal prison yard demolition derby that pits prisoners against each other in steel reinforced, heavily armed vehicles, Death Race offers the winner the ultimate prize: freedom — if he can survive to enjoy it.
