‘The Lords of Salem’ Editing Bay Cameos

Rob Zombie loves his cameos, even in the editing bay. The director of The Lords of Salem has posted two behind-the-scenes photos from the post-production of his witch horror flick that displays a few new looks at the film in the background.

“John 5 stopped by THE LORDS OF SALEM editing room today to discuss the amazing music he is scoring for the film,” said Zombie who also showed a look at editor Glenn Garland having a scream working on a scene from the flick produced by Jason Blum (Insidious, Paranormal Activity).

Penned by Zombie, “The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. Things have been quiet in Salem, at least until today. This morning writer-director Rob Zombie released a pair on new photos from the editing bay that depict Meg Foster as Margaret Morgan, leader of the coven of witches known as The Lords of Salem (also the title of the film).

Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, Bruce Davidson, Christopher Knight, Michael Berryman and Sid Haig all star alongside Foster.

Rob Zombie has shared another image from The Lords of Salem, which is currently in post-production. The still has the playful nature of Sid Haig in House of 1,000 Corpses.

“Here is a really odd moment from THE LORDS OF SALEM. Local Salem TV host Lobster Joe (Christopher Knight) gets ready to entertain the kiddies as his camera assistant (Barbara Crampton ) checks her light meter,” explains Zombie.

Wanna see Sid Haig with a full head of hair? This morning Rob Zombie released a new image from The Lords of Salem featuring Haig as”Dean Magnus”, the other half of the witch finding duo known as “The Brothers.”

Sid is best known for cult classics like Spiderbaby, Coffy, Black Mama, White Mama, CC and Company and The Big Dollhouse. He also starred in Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and Halloween.

Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem is officially wrapped and in post-production, with editing and scoring underway. “Editing is moving along great and John 5 is writing some crazy, spooky music,” reports Zombie.

In addition, Zombie has released yet another image from the flick featuring “Maria Conchita Alonso doing a little Cheech and Chong number in a bathtub from the film.” Conchita, who plays “Alice Matthias” in the film, has starred in such classics as Predator 2 and The Running Man.

As the news continues to roll in, Rob Zombie has shared with his fans another behind-the-scenes shot from the now filming The Lords of Salem, which should be wrapping in Los Angeles any day now.

The below image depicts Zombie going over a scene with Pat Quinn, Judy Geeson and Dee Wallace.

No rest for the wicked, Rob Zombie is spending his Thanksgiving filming his movie within a movie, Frankenstein vs The Witchfinder, which will be playing at the Salem theater in The Lords of Salem.

Suspiria‘s Udo Kier (pictured right) plays the hero “Matthew Hopkins” aka “Klaus the Reap”, Clint Howard (pictured left; Ice Scream Man) is the dwarf “Carlo Caravaggio”, Dan Roebuck (Final Destination, Halloween 2, John Dies at the End) is revived as “The Frankenstein Monster”, and Camille Keaton (I Spit on Your Grave) was cast as the wench “Doris Von Fux”. Rob Zombie continues to update the filming of The Lords of Salem, which looks to have hit the freezing cold Santa Monica Pier in a recently not-so-sunny California. One of the images features Zombie directing, while the other shows a romantic walk on the pier with the GEICO caveman, Jeff Daniel Phillips.

Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem shoot is winding down as they’ve just wrapped production in Salem Massachusetts and are picking up tomorrow in Los Angeles.

“And so it ends. Today is the last day of filming on THE LORDS OF SALEM. Thank you to all in Salem that helped to make this film possible. See you at the movies,” said Zombie before clarifying, “We are not done yet, just done in Salem. Tomorrow we head back to LA to continue working on the film.”
