‘Lords of Salem’ Has a Nosey Wife

Salem is a popular town, filled with B-movie stars. Maria Conchita Alonso is the latest to join the cast of Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem where she’ll be playing “Alice Matthias”, wife of Salem author Francis (Bruce Dern) Matthias. “Should Francis have listened to his wife and minded his own business?” asks Zombie.

Maria is best known for her roles in the hit films Colors, The Running Man, Moscow on the Hudson, Vampire’s Kiss and Predator 2.

Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch and Lisa Marie have also been cast. Shooting begins next week.

The story is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.

Shooting next week, Rob Zombie has added Lisa Marie to the growing cast of The Lords of Salem.

She will portray “Priscilla Reed”, a woman who gives her all to support “the cause of the coven” in merry old Salem.

Lisa hasn’t appeared on screen since 2001 in Tim Buron’s remake of Planet of the Apes. Before that fans obviously remember her from such films as Mars Attacks! Sleepy Hollow and of course her turn as “Vamipra” in Ed Wood.

She joins Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago and Richard Lynch in the film from the producing team behind Insidious and Paranormal Activity.
