Alexa Vega – Or Whomever’s Body This Is – Gets Risque In ‘Machete Kills’!

Robert Rodriguez wrapped Machete Kills over the summer and, I assume, is now deep in post on the project. In addition to Danny Trejo the film stars Lady Gaga, Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Zoe Saldana, William Sadler, Edward James Olmos, Charlie Sheen, Elise Avellan and Electra Avellan. Oh and Alexa Vega. Yeah we posted a somewhat frisky pic of her a few months back and now we’ve got an even more… revealing… look at her character. The pic originally comes from Rolling Stone (via Collider).

The sequel finds the titular ex-federale (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. government to stop a terrorist named Mendez the Madman, who happens to be Mexico’s leading cartel dealer. Gibson is set to co-star as Luther Voz, a cunning arms dealer and death merchant who aims to spread war across the planet by launching a nuclear missile. Heard will play a manipulative assassin code-named Miss San Antonio. Pic co-stars Demian Bichir and Charlie Sheen as the U.S. president. The first film was based on Rodriguez’ faux trailer included in Dimension Films’ 2007 Grindhouse. A release date is still forthcoming.

Head inside for the pic! And answer me this, doesn’t it look sort of like Vega’s head has been photoshopped onto someone else’s (amazing) body? Not to say that Vega herself isn’t fit (and it could definitely be her), but there’s something weird about the light here. READ MORE

Danny Trejo (Machete), Bill Moseley (House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects), and actors from the TV show Holliston, including Joe Lynch, were tossed into a meat grinder during GWAR‘s performance at the Rock N Shock horror convention in Worcester, MA on Oct. 13th. Singer Oderus Urungus is a regular cast member of the show.

While there isn’t the usual waterfall of blood spraying out into the crowd, it’s still a fun treat to see these actors have such a good time. You can see footage of the brutal, senseless violence below. READ MORE

Jessica Alba And Michelle Rodriguez In Talks For ‘Machete Kills’

Now that director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Predators) and producer Alexander Rodnyansky are in full pre-production swing on Machete Kills a bit of significant casting news is beginning to trickle in. Word has it that Jessica Alba (Idle Hands, Fantastic Four; pictured inside), and Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast And The Furious, Resident Evil: Retribution; pictured inside) are in talks to appear in the sequel. One would presume this means they’re reprising their respective roles as Sartana and Luz, but you never know in the topsy turvy creative universe of Robert Rodriguez.

Machete Kills (as teased in the closing credits of the first Machete), the film is the second in a planned trilogy. Danny Trejo returns as the title character. The first film starred Trejo as Machete as a Mexican, an ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, and is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator. The sequel will be the first U.S. picture to be produced and financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, whose Hollywood expansion plans include a $120 million film fund with Media Talent Group’s Geyer Kosinski. AR Films U.S. is a new partnership between AR Films and Aldamisa Entertainment, whose Sergei Bespalov will manage worldwide sales of Machete Kills in Berlin.

Rodriguez has hinted that the third film in the trilogy will take place in space. We’ll see on that one. Machete Kills starts filming soon, with Rodriguez set to take the reigns on Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For immediately afterward. READ MORE

Blu-Ray Review: ‘Machete’

When Grindhouse first entranced us in 2007, the faux trailers seemed to be the real talk of the exploitation opus, especially since almost everyone immediately expressed interest in making a feature-length version of their short. The initial skepticism surrounding the idea was entirely sound: these trailers were nothing more than a bunch of money shots strung together. In order to make them into a theatrical film, they would have to construct an actual narrative around the most interest arousing scene, have an actual plot, and be open to possible drastic changes, considering the format of each medium. For me personally, although I do like Rob Zombie’s Werewolf Women of the S.S. the least out of the batch, I always felt Robert Rodriguez’s Machete played it a little too safe when compared to the gonzo antics of Euro-horror, vaginal stabbings, and Nicolas Cage as Fu Manchu. However, after seeing Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis’ big screen tale of immigration, babes, and blood, I now know why Rodriguez was so excited about the character and his story of revenge and liberation: it’s plain ol’ FUN.

Texas Reneges on ‘Machete’ Incentives

Some despicable news from the south as the Texas Film Commission has denied incentives for Machete, the controversial immigration-related feature film from Robert Rodriguez’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios. The Commission cited part of a state code that says requests for film incentives can be denied “because of inappropriate content or content that portrays Texas or Texans in a negative fashion.” Uh, yeah, because Machete is soooo “believable”. What a scuzzy way to avoid paying someone exactly what you promised (which would be close to $2 million). The letter to Troublemaker did not detail why the commission made its findings, and Pirie did not have further comment Wednesday. But the movie, which was released Sept. 3, features a fictional Texas politician who is stoking violent anti-immigration fervor for financial and political gain. The letter from Pirie said that the commission’s ruling “does not affect…other grant applications from Troublemaker, now or in the future.” It could if Rodriguez, and Troublemaker, decide to film in another state.

‘Machete Kills’ Script Already Completed

A Machete sequel has already been written, according to the film’s leading man. Danny Trejo, who plays a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, revealed that filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has already put pen to paper. “I asked him when he was going to write it and he says it’s written, so we can get started pretty quick,” the actor revealed on the red carpet in Los Angeles. Danny demonstrated his more cuddly side in the city by riding on a float in the annual Hollywood Christmas Parade. The action star admitted he’d been blown away by Machete‘s reception. “We went all over the world with that movie and people kept having me sign these Machete action figures, it was a lot of fun,” he confessed. “I don’t even think Robert Rodriguez even expected that reception and now everyone is waiting for Machete 2 so hurry up Robert Rodriguez!” Danny laughed. Trejo told Bloody Disgusting the sequels will be titled Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again.
