‘The Cave’ Review: Fun and Quirky But Falls Short of Greatness

Like Maniac Mansion, Ron Gilbert’s latest foray into adventure gaming starts with picking three characters out of a possible seven. The Cave gives off every appearance of being a throwback to the glory days of LucasArts, before the downfall of the point-and-click and the Star Wars prequels, and in many ways, it hits its mark. But, it’s missing one important thing that helped make games like Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, and Monkey Island memorable: a story.

Resident Evil Meets Maniac Mansion!

Posted on DESTRUCTOID which was found randomly while searching youtube, a mash up of Resident Evil 1, and Maniac Mansion. How does it work? Let’s just say, pretend you are playing Resident Evil 1, but it looks like Maniac Mansion.

In case you were wondering, where did Chris Redfield go? “Major Neese” the creator of the mash up stuck himself in place of Chris. If you aren’t old enough, or haven’t seen, played, or even heard of Maniac Mansion, then I feel sorry for you. The game is old however, as it was released in 1987 for the original Nintendo.
