Image’s other hit zombie series, “’68″, returns in November with a special one-shot issue, dedicated to artist Josh Medors who passed away last year after a battle with cancer. “’68: Hallowed Ground” will be written by Mark Kidwell, with art from Medors, Kyle Charles, and Jay Fotos. The issue changes settings from Vietnam to Mississippi to follow a group of train-wrecked survivors who seek refuge in a church. This sounds like a deeply personal tale, and so far the “’68″ series has been best when it dives into the emotional turmoil that accompanies wartime tragedies. READ MORE

“Vietnam, 1968: Behind enemy lines, a soldier stands alone. A one-man army…armored against the risen, hungry dead under burlap, bamboo and Army green. Armored against the living with a Bowie knife and a mobile arsenal. If you got left behind…he’ll find you. If you’re the enemy…you’ll never see him coming. If you’re a zombie…he’ll kill you again. Sometimes, to slay monsters…you have to become one yourself. Jungle Jim is a stand-alone one-shot comic story set in the grim world of ’68.”

“A young soldier comes back home from Vietnam. However, seen through the eyes of one traumatized by battle and suffering from previously latent schizophrenia, Nebraska does not appear to be the gentle place of his memories. In fact, it appears to be a battleground teaming with the threats of enemy occupation… from both ‘Charlie’ and the undead. ’68: HARDSHIP is a journey into a psychological realm of hallucination, violence and undead horror!”

The last time I brought you an interview with Jeff Zornow it was uncensored… with a picture of two dudes, a goat, and some good old-fashioned bestiality. This time Zornow brought Jay Fotos and Mark Kidwell along for the ride, and they were nice enough to talk with BD about Tyrannosaurus Rex. Released last February by Image this one-shot tells a story about a man, a journey, and a T-Rex that will kick the living hell out of everything in its path. Don’t just take my word for it. Read on to see what they have to say…
