Bloody-Disgusting is thrilled to team up with A Pale Horse Named Death to bring you an exclusive stream of their song “In The Sleeping Death”, which comes from their new album Lay My Soul To Waste! The melodic, haunting grunge/metal track is a fantastic slow burner, one that has stayed with me since I first heard it. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like Alice In Chains only rawer, more real, and more evil. I’m beyond excited that I get to share this song with all of you readers! Ultragore Records artist Drop Goblin has teamed up with Bloody-Disgusting to stream his upcoming EP The Gate, which is heavily influenced by the 1987 Tibor Takács horror film of the same name. The EP will be released Monday, May 6th via Ultragore Records. Below you can listen to the full EP as well as snag a free download of “The Gate (Vocal Edit)”.

Drop Goblin states, “The Gate is completely horror themed and tells a story of demonic domination inspired by the 1987 film. Each element is custom layered using aggressive Dubstep production and Heavy-Metal guitar riff-age to tell the story of a Demon walking through the gate to cause havoc to the world, and to further define the term ‘Metalstep’”

Psy’s “Gangnam Style” is one of the greatest things on the internet at the moment. Yeah, I said it. I love that video. I don’t think you understand. I freakin’ love that video! It’s one of the most random, hilarious videos around and I can’t stop laughing whenever I see it. Add to the hilarity factor that it’s a really catchy song and I’m hooked.

It’s a list of different metal genres (and a few non-metal ones tacked on at the end) along with a description so that people can understand the difference between them. On top of being incredibly useful for those friends and family who just don’t “get it”, it’s also incredibly funny. My two personal favorites are “Speed Metal” and “Grind Metal”. Deathwish Inc. Releases Teaser For Converge / Napalm Death Split

Legendary bands Converge and Napalm Death have come together for a split release, bridging the worlds of personal and politically driven extreme music.

Recorded as part of their new album sessions, Converge offer up the blazing new song “No Light Escapes“. Already a staple of their live set, this whirlwind of an emotional charged song is a soon to be a discordant hardcore/metal anthem for the band. Also on the release, Converge offer a “We Are The World” styled rendition of the influential Entombed classic “Wolverine Blues“. Joining them in tribute is a number of friends including Tomas Lindberg (Disfear, At The Gates, Lock Up), Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Split Cranium), Kevin Baker (All Pigs Must Die, The Hope Conspiracy), Brian Izzi (Trap Them), and more. A new Converge album will surface later in 2012 on Epitaph/Deathwish Inc.

On the flip side, metal pioneers Napalm Death offer up two new aural monsters. First, “Will By Mouth” erupts in classic grind fashion. A buzz of brutal guitars and a crushing blast beat lay a foundation for Barney Greenway‘s vicious vocal attack. All of it uniquely bleeding together to paint a vivid picture of social unrest. Also on the release, Napalm Death offer the slower and textural new song “No Impediment To Triumph (Bhopal)“. A deeply resonant number that lyrically sheds light on the horrific Bhopal Gas Tragedy of 1984. Without question, “No Impediment…” is truly a powerful and poignant moment for this legendary band.

Experimental-metal group The Bunny The Bear released their video “Lonely” this Wednesday which is off their upcoming album “The Stomach For It“. The albums comes out May 22 and will be released through Victory Records. Victory Records was nice enough to give us exclusive behind the scenes pictures from the video set which was filmed in Chicago. The video is definitely a nightmarish take on Alice In Wonderland. Meshuggah Breaks Nuclear Blast USA Records

“Great news!! Guess all the efforts, the covert sessions, and painstaking, soul-numbing seances performed to reach the souls of former chart toppers – now in the life beyond – have finally come to fruition!! We thank them and we thank you, our fans!!! We just made an album. You guys put it on the charts!!!“

These are the words directly from Meshuggah as they were told that their latest album Koloss (review) has become not only the highest in 1st week sales but also the highest Billboard debut in Nuclear Blast USA history. Selling almost 18.5k copies, Koloss debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200.

For a band as brutal, heavy, and nonstandard, this is an amazing achievement. I’m beyond excited for the guys and can’t wait to see how this impacts their career.

Gojira Announce New Album LEnfant Sauvage

What is with this year? We started out with Lamb of God‘s Resolution (review), then we got Meshuggah‘s Koloss (review) and now Gojira has announced that they will be releasing their latest album, L’Enfant Sauvage, June 26th (just in time for my birthday!). It’s as though 2012 is the year to melt your face off with unending brutal heaviness. My reply to that is simply bring it on! I crave more metal!

The latest from Gojira translates to “The Wild Child” and will feature 11 blistering tracks guaranteed to make you headbang until you develop a rather painful hernia (get a good chiropractor ready). Preorders will begin shortly with a special edition including two bonus tracks, a double-colored version of the album on vinyl, and an exclusive t-shirt.

dragonforcecrythunderscreencap The New Dragonforce Song Is Actually Pretty Damn Good

The official video for the new Dragonforce single, Cry Thunder, has come out and is surprisingly pretty damn good! The song comes off their upcoming album The Power Within, which comes out April 17th. The track is a really solid, epic power metal track that goes at a very manageable speed (as opposed to the blisteringly fast Through The Fire And The Flames). Also, guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman don’t really do anything super flashy or astounding until the guitar solo, allowing new singer Marc Hudson to show his talents.

Also, how awesome is it to see a video with the ban playing on a huge stage, lights flashing everywhere but no crowd? I’m serious here! Those videos died out in the 80′s. The last one I can recall like that was Rammstein‘s Ich Tu Dir Weh.

ffticoversnippet Fear Factory Unveils Artwork/Track Listing For The Industrialist

Industrial metal band Fear Factory is back! Burton C. Bell and Dino Cazares will be releasing The Industrial on June 5th via Candlelight Records. The album will be produced by longtime Fear Factory friend Rhys Fulber (Frontline Assembly, Delerium).

Bell states, “The protagonist (The Industrialist) is the incarnation of all industries in the form of an automaton. The mechanical, technological, and scientific advances through the industrial age led to the creation of The Industrialist. In the story, the automaton becomes sentient as it collects memories with each passing day. Through observation and learning, it gains the will to exist. What was meant to help man, will eventually be man’s demise.”

Alright, I know this is a weird news post. Putting a Meshuggah and Nickelback video side by side? Insanity! But hear me out. The Nickelback song, This Means War, is one of their hard rock/near metal songs that is the rare good track on one of their albums (there’s always one or two) and that ISN’T about drinking or acting like a jackass. Meanwhile, the Meshuggah video for Breaking Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion is super simple and super badass.

UK Sonisphere 2012 Cancelled: What Does It Mean?

The 2012 UK edition of the Sonisphere festival has officially cancelled this year’s performance. The touring festival is a European staple since 2009, delivering some of the biggest names in music, including the first appearance of The Big 4 (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax). While tragic that this had to happen, it speaks to a more worrisome issue regarding the music industry.

galaktikoncover Brendon Smalls Galaktikon Streams First New Song

Coinciding with season 4 of Adult Swim’s Metalocalypse, April will see the release of Dethklok creator Brendon Small’s Galaktikon. Described as “high stakes intergalactic extreme rock”, the album seems to be something that Dethklok fans can definitely get into but is also diverse enough to attract new crowds and listeners.

Today, Crave Online got a stream of one of the tracks entitled On My Way. My only complaint is that the first thing I noticed was how boxed the audio file was. There were no dynamics to be found anywhere. The song kicks in and the volume never changes once. Am I right? Am I wrong? You can hear the song below and give me your thoughts.
