[Good Scenes In Bad Movies] ‘The Beacon’ Edition!

I’ve seen The Beacon. It was one of the very first five or so films I reviewed for this site! Oh, the days (of only a year or so ago). Anyway, it’s terrible – but I had a lot of fun with it (especially the makeup at the ending). But we each find our own ways through terrible movies, clinging on to different scenes that, however so briefly, part the clouds. And that’s precisely the point The Wolfman (@TheWolfmanCometh – on the boards) aims to illustrate here in his column!

We’re going to, on occasion, start examining decent scenes in otherwise bad movies. And we hope you’ll come along for the ride! Head inside for his take on The Beacon! READ MORE

[Double Dip This!] ‘Total Recall’ Mind-Bending Edition

Total Recall was one of the first DVDs I bought more than a decade ago, and has sat proudly on my shelf since. ‘Battlefield Earth’ Director Heads Back To Space For ‘Stranded’

Podcast Shadowlocked caught up with Battlefield Earth director Roger Christian who revealed that he’s currently in pre-production on a new sci-fi/horror film set to shoot this coming May.

From Minds Eye Entertainment, Stranded follows four isolated astronauts on board a bio-dome space craft, experience a ghostly intercession after a meteor storm, leading to paranoia, fear and death.

[It's] Quite scary. We don’t have a creature,” he explains. “Our alien entity, which it is, is born on board. This woman gets pregnant and gives birth in a few days. It’s one of those weird things that happens very fast. The thing that’s on board imitates one of the crew members and takes him over…Our familiar character becomes the monster.

Amanda Crew, Kevin Dillon, Michael Ironside, Tricia Helfer, Nick Stahl, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Facinelli and Luke Goss are all in talks to join the cast.

Christian is now in post on 13 Eerie. READ MORE
