[TV] Full Trailer For “Under The Dome” Gets You Up To Speed

We’ve got a look at the full trailer for the Stephen King adaptation “Under the Dome,” and it’s not looking too shabby for a network mini-series! I feel like it paints some of the characters in broad strokes, but then again that could just be a trailer thing. The show has plenty of time to deepen them out.

‘Under the Dome’ is the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers to what this barrier is, where it came from, and if and when it will go away.

The 13-episode summer series will premiere June 24th on CBS.

It stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy, and Aisha Hinds. READ MORE

[TV] Five New Minutes Of “Bates Motel” Footage Look Surprisingly Good!

Whoa! A lot of new footage for “Bates Motel”! And, I have to say, it doesn’t look all that bad. I’m even starting not to mind the contemporary setting. As long as the choice works, who cares? Below we have a new one minute teaser as well as an extended four minute sneak peek. Both are worth taking a gander at.

The series stars Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga (“Up in the Air,” “The Departed”), Freddie Highmore (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Finding Neverland”), Max Thieriot (“Disconnect”), Olivia Cooke (“Blackout”) and Nicola Peltz (“The Last Airbender”). Season one also co-stars Nestor Carbonell (“Lost,” “The Dark Knight Rises”) and Mike Vogel (“Pan Am”).

In “Bates Motel,” following the tragic death of her husband, Norma Bates buys a motel on the outskirts of the idyllic coastal town of White Pine Bay, seeking a fresh start. As Norma and Norman get ensconced in their new home, they discover this town isn’t quite what it seems, and the locals aren’t so quick to let them in on their secrets. But the Bates’ are done being pushed around and will do whatever it takes to survive – and will do whatever it takes to protect their own secrets.

On The A&E Network from executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Kerry Ehrin (“Friday Night Lights”) – the show debuts on Monday, March 18 at 10 PM ET/PT. READ MORE

[TV] New Casting Gives Me A Hankering For “Under The Dome”

CBS’ “Under the Dome” just made its best casting decision yet, adding Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”, Starship Troopers) to its ranks. Not only is Norris a fun performer, but he’ll be bringing a lot of heat from the series finale of “Breaking Bad”, in which he plays a pivotal role.

Per TV Line, Norris will play Big Jim, the successful owner of Chester’s Mill’s used car dealership and also a town councilman, an office he takes very seriously.

Based on the book by Stephen King, the summer series follows residents in the Chester’s Mill community as they deal with the postapocalyptic conditions that ensue when a strange dome mysteriously encapsulates the town.

Norris joins a cast that also includes Britt Robertson, Aisha Hinds, Mike Vogel, Natalie Martinez, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, Alex Koch and Colin Ford.

“Under the Dome” premieres June 24 on CBS. READ MORE

[TV] Two Eerie Teaser Promos For “Bates Motel”

Freddie Highmore stars as Norman Bates in “Bates Motel,” the Psycho prequel from “Lost”‘s Carlton Cuse and “Friday Night Lights”‘ Kerry Ehrin. The series will explore Norman’s back story that helped forge the infamous serial killer. After relocating to a new town, Norman will be tasked with navigating the social land mine that comes with being the new kid at a local high school. His mother, Norma Bates, will be played by Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up In The Air, The Conjuring).

I’m not entirely sold on the idea of this being a modern day show, complete with iPhones and Norman being a fan of Manga (apparently), but I’ll give it a shot! Meanwhile this teaser (via EW) tells us next to nothing – except that Norman (or Norma?) will probably at least handcuff one woman to a sink before disposing of her.

Max Thieriot, Nestor Carbonell, Mike Vogel, Nicola Pletz and Olivia Cooke also star. A&E is currently filming the series in Vancouver, for an early 2013 premiere.

“Bates Motel” serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film, “Psycho,” and promises to give viewers and intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ (Freddie Highmore) psyche unravels through his teenage years and just how deeply intricate his relationship to his mother, Norma (Vera Farmiga), truly is.

Check out the newly launched official website, with the teaser clips below. READ MORE

[TV] Meet Norman Bates’ Teacher In “Bates Motel”

Keegan Connor Tracy (pictured!; Final Destination 2, “Battlestar Galactaca,” “V,” “Once Upon a Time”) is set to recur on A&E’s upcoming series “Bates Motel,” which serves as a prequel to Psycho, reports Deadline.

The series examines the twisted relationship between serial-killer-to-be Norman (Freddie Highmore) and his mother Norma (Vera Varmiga). Tracey will play Miss Watson, Norman’s teacher and adviser.

Tracy joins Freddie Highmore, Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot, W. Earl Brown, Nestor Carbonell, Mike Vogel, Olivia Cooke and Nicola Peltz in “Bates Motel,” which is currently underway in Vancouver, Canada. It premieres in 2013 on A&E.

“Bates Motel” will give viewers an intimate understanding of how Norman Bates’ psyche developed from his childhood through his teen years. Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn firsthand how his mother, Norma, and her lover damaged Norman, helping forge the most well-known serial killing motel owner in history.
