It’s like a conspiracy theory comedy horror movie… “It’s based on the Jon Ronson book,” explained Wright. “I’m not sure if you’ve read the book but it’s a nonfiction extremists and wild conspiracy theories. And the idea is to set the film in a world where some of these things exist.”
Sad news for Lionsgate who is now back to square one on the their hunt for a director to turn Seth Grahame-Smith novel Pride And Prejudice And Zombies into a live-action feature film. Deadline reports that Mike White has just dropped out of getting behind the camera for the adaptation that injects flesh-eating corpses to Jane Austen’s 1813 literary classic. White is said to have had a preexisting commitment at HBO and they couldn’t make schedules mesh. There’s apparently no ill-will, but it sucks that Lionsgate’s going to have to figure something out on such short notice. Might I suggest Cloverfield/Let Me In director Matt Reeves, again?

After weeks of names flooding the Web, Deadline reports that Mike White is officially signed on to direct Lionsgate’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel that spices up Jane Austen’s time-tested 1813 literary classic with a smattering of flesh-eating walking corpses. White, who scripted School of Rock, made his feature directing debut on Year of the Dog. Exciting news? Maybe. It’s hard to bring a comedic edge into the horror-verse.
