Sh*t Gets Real In Bloody New The Divide Imagery

From Frontier(s) director Xavier Gens comes the new post-apocalyptic thriller, The Divide (review), which blasts into theaters January 13 from Anchor Bay Films. Though a few images have already been released, the Bay has shared with us four pretty eye-catching stills that should definitely pique your interest.

In this graphic and violent, post-apocalyptic thriller starring Michael Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia, Rosanna Arquette, Courtney B. Vance and Lauren German, “nine strangers—all tenants of a New York high rise apartment—escape a nuclear attack by hiding out in the building’s bunker-like basement. Trapped for days underground with no hope for rescue, and only unspeakable horrors awaiting them on the other side of the bunker door, the group begins to descend into madness, each turning on one another with physical and psycho-sexual torment. As supplies dwindle, and tensions flare, and they grow increasingly unhinged by their close quarters and hopelessness, each act against one another becomes more depraved than the next. While everyone in the bunker allows themselves to be overcome by desperation and lose their humanity, one survivor holds onto a thin chance for escape even with no promise of salvation on the outside.READ MORE

AFM ’11: Sales Art for Stalker Horror ‘Static 3D’

It was announced back in March that Milo Ventimiglia (Pathology, Rocky Balboa and Anchor Bay’s forthcoming post-apocalyptic thriller The Divide) would be starring alongside “The L Word’s” Sarah Shahi and Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left, Truth or Dare, Shark Night 3D, The Innkeepers) in the 3-D thriller Static. Now we’ve landed new details and the sales art for this week’s AFM.

Being helmed by music video director Todd Levin, “As a young novelist and his wife are coping with the loss of their child, their lives are turned upside down when a panicked girl appears at their home in the middle of the night with stories of masked intruders stalking her. That night, the stalkers strike, sending the couple on a horrific game of cat and mouse, where they are forced to uncover shocking details from their past that may be the reason for the attack.

Static is one of the first low-budget features to be shot in full 3D (if you don’t count Scar 3D). Levin will use a camera rig designed specifically for the producers and director to hold two Sony PMW-F3 cameras — Sony’s answer to the RED 3D camera — and control costs. Movie’s budget is below $1 million. READ MORE

‘The Divide’ Comic Book Becomes New York Comic-Con Experiment

The Divide Comic Book Becomes New York Comic Con Experiment

Now that I finally went broke and bought myself an iPad, reading comic books is once again the priority in my life (seriously, it’s amazing).

Making it’s debut at this weekend’s New York Comic-Con is Mondo artist James Flames’ comic book prequel to The Divide, Xavier Gens’ apocalyptic tale exploding into theaters January 13 from Anchor Bay. The film will be screening at NYCC this weekend and in honor of the event said comic will be available exclusively at Anchor Bay’s Comic Con booth, #430.

Inside you’ll find an exclusive look at pages 12 and 13 from the comic, which are actually kind of a spoiler for those of you looking forward to the film. Personally, having seen it, I’m DYING to know the origin behind these “specimens”. The cover art is also included.

Milo Ventimiglia Goes ‘Static’ in New Supernatural Thriller

As much as I despised “Heroes,” I’m a big fan of actor Milo Ventimiglia, who also starred in Pathology, Rocky Balboa and Anchor Bay’s forthcoming post-apocalyptic thriller The Divide.

Next up he’ll be starring alongside “The L Word’s” Sarah Shahi in Static, a 3D thriller, TheWrap reports. Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left, Truth or Dare, Shark Night 3D, The Innkeepers) also stars.

Being helmed by music video director Todd Levin, “The movie is about a young couple, played by Ventimiglia and Shahi, on the verge of divorce after losing their child. Their world changes when a young visitor arrives, bringing supernatural implications to the household.

Levin, and producers Gabriel Cowan, John Suits and Andrew Orci wrote the script. Talk about desperate for credit…

Pathology

Written by Neveldine and Taylor, the story centers on a young intern (Ventimiglia) who is studying pathology at Philadelphia’s University Hospital and encounters an attractive but murderous group of colleagues who have devised a deadly game to see who among them can commit the perfect murder, while the others compete to determine the cause of death.

Cursed (Unrated) (V)

It is a moonlit night in Los Angeles, when something lurking in the shadows causes their car to suddenly swerve off the road, a teenaged brother and his career-driven sister emerge relatively unscathed, but forever changed by the accident. Suddenly, the siblings find themselves blessed with increased physical strength, heightened sensibilities and undeniable allure to everyone around them. But, what if what happened to them that night wasn’t just an accident and what seemed like fate was really something more? It is only a matter of time before Ellie (Christina Ricci) and Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg “Rodger Dodger”) can no longer control these impulses because their newfound power comes with a price that they never expected to pay and a mystery that only they can solve.
